Monday: Donate-a-Prompt
Don't we all know this feeling of having too many ideas to write and no time to write them all? Is there this one headcanon that you really want to read but can't write it? Or that frustration when you actually do want to write but you can't come up with anything?

I have had an idea for a dragon!Steve engineer!Tony AU for a while. Like, Steve is a dragon and Tony is an engineer but all of the rest of the knights were busy so the king shoved him into some armor, slapped him atop a horse, and sent him off to take care of the dragon complaints, which turn out not to be complaints and no one knows who called Steve a monster because he really is just the sweetest dragon and the village is his hoard, he wouldn’t harm it, and Tony’s all set to leave, but then Steve decides that Tony’s his pretty and has to stay.

How about we add some extra intrigue with the king or someone plotting to get rid of Tony while he's investigating the "dragon" which they don't believe exists, only whoops, turns out the rumors were true(ish). Tony of course was super excited to have a chance at being a knight because in his heart of hearts he always admired them and wanted to be one, which the king totally told him he could if he slayed this dragon. (darn this dragon for not cooperating by being actually really nice)

"wait a minute this dragon is too nice wtf, I can't kill him, Oh No"
"suddenly there are bad guys trying to kill me?? what is going"
anyway after a Princess Bride worth series of hijinks and such, the bad guys are defeated, the situation is rectified, Tony is officially a knight but also officially staying in the village and all is well.
(lowkey envisioning Fury as the king, maybe Nat is the suspicious stranger who everyone thought was the secret bad guy but actually she was there to investigate on behalf of the king / keep Tony alive and she'd been taking out more assassins behind the scenes. The real bad guy is...idk Vanko or someone, someone in a competing role with Tony, but also trying to stage a coup while he's at it. Not Hammer because he's too incompetent lol)
maybe also throw in some identity porn: Tony is getting? close? to a dragon?? and that's all sorts of ??? he can't quite wrap his mind around or has the fortitude to even consider at length. But also he meets this really sweet villager guy Steve who is around sometimes, but not all the time, but heck if this golden boy doesn't make his heart race. But sometimes the dragon?? reminds me of Steve-the-dude?? Tony's poor confused heart (...and dare I say, boner) can only take so much.

(2) Tony is from a space colony that lost contact with earth. He (or the colony) finds earth, only it's had a major backslide in tech. Most people have turned to sustenance farming and don't know how to use the tech left over from pre-whatever happened days. Tony crashes on this earth and hides out with Steve (keeping his id a secret?) while he repairs his ship.
(3) A canon divergent au, where on his road trip post-avengers, Steve gets lost and loses his memory and ends up living a normal life in a small town. Tony comes to find him.
