GUESSING POST for the 2017 Holiday Exchange and Community Gifts

All the works have now been revealed--this year between the exchange and community gifts, we've received 102 fanworks! Big thank you to all the participants! The gifts will remain anonymous until January 7th (reveals won't happen sooner than 4PM CET).

Until then, it's time to GUESS THE CREATORS! Feel free to share your guesses and discuss your ideas in the comments on this post (anonymous comments are turned on)--but if you took part, remember not to reveal your own gift.

The list of everyone signed up for the gift exchange is available in the collection profile, but remember it's not the exhaustive list of all the creators: some of the Comm Gifts authors and artists weren't signed up and some created more than one work!

*noms popcorn voraciously* I had a few guesses, but they're probably all wrong. I'm *dying* to find out who wrote my gift, though, because it's someone I know, and probably chat with on Tumblr all the time, but I can't narrow the pool down any further than that! *dances in anticipation*

Well, I thought Sineala wrote the longer Tony-turned-into-a-cat one, but she tends not to write MCU fusion, so maybe not?? I know Nines (who did my icon!) did "Conditioning", and I know one of the fics because I beta'ed it, another because I saw a snippet of it in a non-Stony chat. Those two don't count. ;) And then my guess for "Never Let You Go" was, verbatim: "One of those comics-based angst demons! *shakes fist*"

First off, thank you so much to the mods for this fabulous event! Y'all are tireless and amazing (and very kind and patient as I bumbled my way through this event). A+

As for my guesses:
Pretty sure Caz did Not Again! (http://archiveofourown.org/works/13098720). There are a couple other artworks I recognize from tumblr users, but don't know their AO3 handles :(

Staking a Claim (http://archiveofourown.org/works/13068318) either feels like @Chibisquirt *squints suspiciously*

And I want to say @laireshi wrote Astable (http://archiveofourown.org/works/13067928), but that's the one I'm least sure about.

Sadly, unable to guess on my gift, but I can't wait to see who wrote it! <3

I would have guessed Astable too but it has distinctive punctuation (single quotes for dialogue) so it's probably not laireshi XD

I had a lot of guesses while I was reading but they were all wrong so far (i.e. the dinosaur stuck in a cave fic is not by Veldeia XD all my Ults guesses were wrong too).

The only thing I'm gonna try to guess is probably "Our Love Is A Ghost That The Others Can't See" is by Kiyaar because Kiyaar and IronLawyer were the two people I saw talking about haunted angst in chat and this was close to the reveals ... yeah that's all I'm going off of. LOL *sweats*

For art "The light at the end of the tunnel" is Shaliara, I think.

Oh and I know one fic because I helped with it, so I know the author *grins*

I'm really bad at these, but I have a few guesses!

I'm sure that the gift I received, A Life That's Full (https://archiveofourown.org/works/13180641) is from Ireallyshouldbedrawing. (It's so beautiful (TuT))

Maybe Sucker Punch (https://archiveofourown.org/works/13226823) is Sineala? Though I was thinking the same thing with Man is a Wolf to Man (https://archiveofourown.org/works/13227012), but it's probably someone else...

I'm out of ideas. I hope someone guesses mine!

Well, besides the content (616 angst, Ancient Roman Capwolf) and quality, one major clue for Sucker Punch was the tagging style, the way you tag specific runs in the comics. Plus the notes about where you pulled canon dialogue from. Maybe if you don't want anyone to guess, try saving that for when your name is revealed?

I also had the idea that 'east of my youth, west of my future' might be by foldingcranes, because it has this lovely and distinctive smooth style.

I’m new to the community so I really can’t guess anyone’s fic based on style (except for one of you... you know who you are *winks*) but I’m enjoying seeing people’s guesses so far as I’ve read almost every single fic (am a little behind in kudos and comments, but I’m getting there!) so this is neat to see.

I mostly just wanted to pop by and say thank you to the mods for putting so much of their time and effort into this, but especially to mod FestiveFerret for listening to me whine over on Tumblr while balancing mod duties too! Hahaha. Takes special skills, that. ;)

This was a fun challenge, so thanks for that!

Yay I guessed right! I think the good tagging, and the mention of detailed comic background stuff tipped me off? There was the mention of the cap hotline and other things I think. And I don't know, it felt kind of like your writing. The angsty Steve pov reminded me of your Steve in the cabin fic, maybe that was it?

I really enjoyed it and I'm stoked I guessed it :D

Well I'm not totally new, I've already participate on Cap-Ironman events but I still feel like I'm new in the community haha still don't know many of you, or at least, not like friends so it was hard for me to guess who gave me that wonderful gift. Also I hope I can get to know all of you, it would be great!
I already know it was Sineala who wrote my gift and I'm so HAPPY about it! I've already read some of her fics and LOVED THEM <3 So, if you read me I'm really happy with my gift.
