Catch up on all the exciting things that are happening in the Community, the Fandom, and Marvel!
Community News:
Happy 2018! This is an exciting year for us as we have not one, but two anniversaries to celebrate! First of all, the Cap-Ironman Community is 10 years old this year. 10 remarkable years sharing our love of Steve and Tony with remarkable people. That is definitely worth celebrating. Second, it was 10 years ago that Iron Man was released, bringing the MCU to life, and so in the weeks leading up to the Avengers: Infinity War, it also seems fitting to celebrate the 10 years of MCU. The Information and Schedule for the Community Anniversary is up, and the information for the MCU Anniversary will follow later in March.
For more information about the upcoming anniversaries, check out our New Year’s Message. This post also outlines a few changes to our daily discussions as most of them move towards running over the course of the month. We’re hoping that these changes will help to facilitate more discussion among the community, so don’t be afraid to jump in! We want to hear from all of you.
If you haven’t seen them already, Cap-Ironman Monthly Fanworks round up for December can be found right here. Be sure to check out the great works created outside events by our community this past month.
The SteveTony Kink Meme Round Seven is now open! The round will run for the entire month, and you’re free to post and fill as many prompts as you want. All the round information and prompts are in this post, and remember you can fill from any previous round. Be sure to check out the Round Six Fills.
Cap-Ironman Holiday Exchange has wrapped up another year. Our collection on AO3 has an astounding 102 works, covering both our exchange gifts and community gifts. Thank you to everyone who participated, and if you haven’t had a chance to check out the new works, definitely head over to the collection.
The Cap-Ironman Remix Challenge is in full swing. Signups for the main exchange and the relays are closed, but there are still opportunities to participate. Sign ups for the Remix Madness will open on January 20th. Madness is a low stress, no obligation event, and once signed up you are able to create as many or as few remixes as you’d like. If you’re unsure about creating remixes, but you’re interested in trying, Remix Madness is the perfect place for you to jump in. Rules and FAQ’s will go up on January 20th when sign ups open, but for now, check out the announcement post.
Cap-Ironman Reverse Big Bang is now underway, and we are currently in the art phase. Art submissions for the challenge are now open, and we will accept submissions until February 14th, with claims opening February 17th. For more information and details on the art submission guidelines, check out the RBB Information Post.
BINGO 2017 Round 2 will be closing January 31st. You have until it is no longer January anywhere in the world to post your fills, but you will have time after to claim your prizes. Keep your eyes open for the prize claim post coming later this month. BINGO 2018 Round 1 will start February 1st and will run until July 31st.
Fandom News
Bidding for the 2018 Fandom Trumps Hate fundraiser is now finished. There were a number of Steve/Tony creators who were up for auction, so keep your eyes open for works to follow.
Chocolate Box another low key, multi fandom exchange and has a small handful of Steve/Tony prompts if you’re interested in checking it out. There is information and an AO3 collection, and also a searchable spreadsheet.
Marvel News - possible spoilers:
Captain America #697 was released earlier this month, and saw Cap facing off against Kraven the Hunter, and fighting a leopard. Because Cap never does anything by halves. That being said, the end up the issue sets up for a lead into the next arc coming up, “ Out of Time.” Part one of the new arc will be coming out February 7th.
We’re still waiting on Iron Man #596, Part 4 of the Search for Tony Stark, but the issue teases a big decisions coming up for Riri, and a little of the mystery of Tony and Iron Man’s resurrection to be uncovered. Stay tuned!
Marvel Solicitations have been published for March including a one shot Iron Man: Hong Kong Heroes, a continuation of the new Captain America arc in Captain America #699, and Part Six of the Search for Tony Stark in Iron Man #598.
