Rec Week 2018: Artful Tuesday

Every year we have been asking our members to rec all kinds of fanworks for the different themes of rec week, but traditionally most recs have been for fic. Our community is lucky though to have as many talented artists who create a sea of awesome Steve/Tony artworks and comics. Therefore this year we have a special day for art recs and today is the day to tell us about all the beautiful Steve/Tony art you can think of and give our artists some love!

Note: Please mark major warnings for your recs, and if you have time, let us know why you’re reccing it!

Rec Week 2018 Themes and Schedule

All New Monday, July 9th: Works newly posted any time after the end of the 2017 Reverse Big Bang (mid-June).
Artful Tuesday, July 10th: A rec day highlighting fanart specifically! Come and rec all the art.
Angsty Wednesday, July 11th: Bring on all the angst!
Fluffy Thursday: July 12th Rec your favourite warm fluff works.
Fix-It Friday, July 13th: All fix-its, all day.
Kiss-It-Better Saturday: July 14th: Hurt/Comfort of any kind.
Cap-IM Sunday, July 15th: Rec all your favorite works created for one of the Cap-IronMan challenges!

There will be different ways to participate:

• You can comment with your recs on the day on this post or in our livejournal community. (Anon commenting will allow anyone to participate, even if they don’t have an account.)


• Reply to the rec day’s Tumblr post with your recs.


• During rec week you can make a Tumblr post with your recommendations and tag it with #capimrecweek within the first five tags on the post. Please include the day’s theme somewhere in the body of the post. On the dedicated day we will reblog posts for the day’s theme on our community Tumblr and later include them in the masterlist.

The Roles We Play by Faite (616)
Summary: The villain formerly known as The Captain pays a visit to Director Stark.
Comment: I love the role-playing and how perfectly it's reflected in the art, how the atmosphere and their facial expressions change once you reach the switching point.


Tony I from Petiteallemande's Steve's Sketches series (all MCU).
Comment: The idea is that all of these are drawn by Steve and I love how this one catches Tony mid-conversation. It looks like something Steve would have drawn early on, from the sidelines even, starting to see Tony.
Tony II
Comment: Love the arc reactor in this and Tony's expression.
Tony III
Comment: The idea of Steve drawing Tony as he looked during their airport fight in Civil War is heartbreaking, but the cherry on top is the "I'm sorry, Tony." he wrote in the top right corner.


StarTrek!AU by Aya (MCU)
Comment: Star Trek AU! Always here for that. Stumbled across this one by chance, really well done.


Speaking of Star Trek, I recently went and looked at the art for Sineala's "Straight on till Morning" again and it's so great:

Comment: Loved the scene, love this, their body language, how they are in each other's space already. Also, Tony's hair!

Comment: Love everything about this. Steve and Tony in their little bubble of firelight, talking and relaxed and wrapped up in each other, all underneath this beautiful night sky.

A Quiet Night on the Airship (Noir)
Comment: Tony just watching Steve. So simple, just beautiful.

Comment: This packs so much feeling into a few lines. Love the sensuality and how Tony gives in here.


Road Trip by Pinkelephant42 (MCU)
Summary: Tony introduces Steve to his friends, takes him on vacations and fights a supervillan.
Comment: Steve and Tony getting to know each other after the first Avengers movie. A lovely little wordless comic. The Malibu!house scene is fascinating and I love the motorcycle trip and the villain fighting.


And since Laireshi recced one of Shaliara's newer pieces yesterday, I was prompted to go through some of Shaliara's older stuff - have a couple of favourites:

Yeah, tumblr is much harder to search than AO3, it's kind of luck if you find stuff. Especially if it hasn't been reblogged in a while and you don't know the artists. Glad you liked the recs!

Heh, talk about being broken by the CACW portrait I recced - Shaliara's IW piece is next level in that regard. The kisses series was completely new to me, awesome. And this - I CAN'T PICK JUST ONE OKAY JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND GO THROUGH HER ART TAG - is certainly one way solve that dilemma. :-D
