Cap-Iron Man 2018 Big Bang FAQ

Writers are gearing up to starting this year's Cap-Iron Man Big Bang, or preparing their drafts to be submitted as part of the challenge... meanwhile, prospective artists might be skulking around looking at the guidelines and waiting impatiently for claims day.
Here's some general logistics to participating in the Big Bang—these are a couple of questions that consistently pop up, so we hope that you find the answers useful!
Do I need to have an DW/LJ/AO3 or Tumblr account to participate?
Writers are required to have an AO3 account to sign-up—if you don’t have an account, you can request one here. Artists can post on a hosting platform of their choice and requirements for that will be outlined in the posting guidelines and announced later on in the challenge. It is your responsibility to follow one of Cap-Iron Man’s community platforms to keep up with announcements about the challenge, but you are not required to become one of the community members in order to do this.
Can I post my fic in other places too?
We require the fic to be posted to our AO3 Collection, but you are free to post it in other places after you’ve done this.
We are required to make a Masterpost on the DW community, but what if none of our team members has a DW account?
Every team will be required to have a DW Masterpost with links to the fic and all accompanying art works posted on their chosen posting date. A Dreamwidth account can easily be created here and in order for you to keep control over it we suggest that one team member make an account. If you don’t have an account and don’t want to make one, mods can post your masterpost from the cap-ironman-fe account. Please contact us for at cap.im.events@gmail.com after more information goes up in the posting guidelines.
Can I sign up for this Bang multiple times?
You can sign up a maximum of twice for this year’s Big Bang. These can be writer or artist sign-ups. (To clarify, you can sign up twice as writer by sending in two mostly complete drafts, or once as writer and once as artist, or twice as artist.)
I want to submit, but my fic isn't 80% done, can I still send my draft in?
As a rough guideline, we ask that you have about 80% of your drafted story written by the draft submission due date, but the important thing is that you feel confident you can finish the story in time. The Big Bang is a collab challenge, so it's important to consider your future partner when signing up and we do request that you carefully assess your ability to finish. As long as you have 20K or over and you're absolutely sure you'll be done by the time you have to pick a posting date, then please do submit your draft to us!
Who sees the rough draft that I send as my sign-up?
Just the mods! We need to see your draft to make sure that it exists, that it fills the Big Bang requirements, and that you aren't adding an extra zero to your wordcount by accident. Don't worry, we don't show the drafts to your partners: once your work has been claimed and the assignment email has been sent, it is you who shares your fic with your artist/s.
If you have any other burning questions that aren't covered by the General Event Policies, the Cap-IM Big Bang General Guidelines, and the Writer and Artist Guidelines, flick us an email to cap.im.events@gmail.com!
