Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Exchange Updates

Hi everyone!

As you know, this year we're trialing a new midyear event, which we hope will be fun for everyone as a low-stakes fest that exchanges fic for art and art for fic and celebrates the creativity of our Cap-IM community.

To join the exchange, please head over to this post for more information! But before that, we have two important updates:

☆☆ Call for Artists! ☆☆
The way this exchange is currently structured, we need a roughly even number of artists and writers, as matching is done one to one unless a participant indicates that they can take on 2 assignments.

Right now, we are heavily skewed towards writer signups, and need some artists to shore up our ranks! If you are interested in signing up, please do, and spread the word to your artistically-minded friends and followers. If you were looking forward to the Tiny Reverse Bang, consider this event, where you can have just as much fun creating a small gift for someone!

☆☆ Fandom Requirement Change ☆☆
As this is a new fest and we're experimenting with something new, we appreciate your feedback to help develop it for the future. To make things run more smoothly, we have decided to change one part of the sign-up process.

To ensure that matching works as smoothly as possible, we still ask that you only put your eligible universe in your request. However, in the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION section, we now welcome you to write down all other Fandoms that you are happy to accept a gift for. Your gifter will be matched on your tagged, eligible Fandom(s), but they will now also be able to create a gift for works in your noted Fandoms, so long as they're not ineligible for gifting (see Additional Information in our exchange post for details). We'll be updating the information in the sign-up form and Midyear Exchange information post to reflect this amendment.

It can be intimidating for an artist or writer to scroll through dozens of works trying to figure out which one to gift for! For this reason, we also encourage that if participants have listed several Fandoms that they are not eligible for, they elaborate on their Likes in the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION section of their signup.

If you have already signed up to the exchange, don't worry, you have until July 12th to change your request. We will also start contacting participants who need to correct something in their sign-up this week.

Please note that the total maximum number of safe works is still ONE, and that encompasses all universes. If you have more than one work that you don't want art/fic created for, please consider not signing up with that universe, only participating in the madness period of the exchange, or getting in touch with us at cap.im.events@gmail.com about pinch-hitting!
