Fic Summary: Everyone knows the Daily Bugle is a rag and besides, it's not like anyone in their right mind would actually believe that Captain America – the epitome of moral integrity and legendary virtue – would tie himself to Tony, so he's confident that it'll all blow over if they don't address the engagement rumour. But, as always, Steve is Steve, coming out like a tactless rhinoceros and then promptly starting to wax poetry about Tony to pretty much everyone with a smartphone, and predictably everything spirals out of control.

So Operation: Fake Relationship Trope kicks off, and what should've been a few months of play-pretend until they could claim irreconcilable differences and go about their lives ends up being a lot more than Tony would've ever expected.
