Inevitable Fourth of July ficdump.

First off, hi! I'm new here. Been lurking for a while, finally finishing and posting a few things. Because Steve Rogers deserves to get both resurrected and laid for his birthday.

So, lo, there is ficdump below.

Title: Everybody Got Naked and We Got Cap Back Day
Author: Letterblade ([livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard)
Rating: PG-13. (Almost gen, one kiss.)
Summary: Tony Stark and Reed Richards go Skrull-hunting, and find a lot more than they bargained for.
Length: c. 5k.
Notes: Gratuitous Civil-War-fix-it-AU, discarding all canon and retcons from the point of departure, including most of Sekrit!Invasion. Kind of crack, except when it's not.

He stands by the table and thinks of all those years ago. It almost makes him shake, it's almost physically painful. Except this time his helmet's off, and Steve's naked, and Jan isn't buzzing up over him, Thor isn't looming at the foot of it, and he's pretty sure they'll be fighting in about five minutes.

Title: Off Grid
Author: Letterblade ([livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard)
Rating: NC-17. (Warning for a tiny infusion of kink.)
Summary: Steve and Tony go camping, and bears are the greatest threat facing America. No, really, that's about it.
Length: c. 7k.
Notes: New Avengers, pre-Extremis, existing relationship. Also, this was supposed to be a PWP. I'm so sorry. Song research done at Cantaria.

Three or four days alone with Steve--well, come to think of it, he wants that more than just about anything right now. Except for world peace and perfect firmware, of course. Cold fusion, large scale quantum computing without Heisenberg errors...a few days alone with Steve is definitely up there.

Enjoy, and happy Fourth to those of the US persuasion!

Tales of Suspense seems to have died for a moment, so I can't get to the second story, but I managed to read the first one, and I totally loved it! Your characters rang really true for me, and I loved the little Steve and Tony details! (I'd go and quote, but site is down ;_;)

Will keep trying to get ToS to load! ♥

Edit: And it's back up, lovely :3

Second fic! I loved that Steve arranged everything and only told Tony at the last minute he could :D it's so true! And the walking, and the sketching, and the really hot sex, and the steve not liking camping! I love the last couple of lines, they really round everything off nicely :3

Ohgod I'm two different kinds of dead at once. First story--dead from awwww and angst and I completely support this solution, for lo! It is win. And we get everyone back. I'm always fond of fix-it fic, and this is an excellent one. Poor Tony. *hugs him* Second story--dead from a weirdly seductive combination of humor and hotness. So much love all around.

OOOOH love these! The camping fic is really sweet and hot as hell :D

Oh God, the first one killed me. All of the little details in it are just gorgeous. I love ten percent of Tony's brain missing Peter, and five percent forever beating himself up, and the fluffy slippers, and Reed being frozen to keep him from stretching, and Tony's sudden fear/conviction that he, too, must be a sleeper agent (and then it wouldn't really have been him that did all those things, and he always knew he was damaged somehow...). And the moment where Steve just turns and shoots Skrull!Reed, and you see some of the anger he must have felt at beign helpless through all of this. And Sharon with the over-sized Skrull weaponry, and... if I keep going, I'll just end up repeating the entire fic.

"You've been played since day one," Steve says. "Every bad position you were forced into, every dirty deal you cut--they set you up. Because they knew how far they could push you, how much you'd be willing to sacrifice for a greater cause. Shell games, Tony, you've always been good at shell games. And they knew letting you go that far--and having it result in my death--would break you and undermine pretty much anyone in a mask, no matter where they came down.

This part was particularly effective -- the entire plan/set-up sounds so convincing. If that kind of thing is what Bendis ultimately has in mind for Sekrit Invasion, I'll forgive Marvel a hell of a lot.
Will review second fic later. Broken now.

I did ^_^. Which is a sign of great skill on your part, because usually spanking is one of my sure-fire squicks (it generally edges into domestic discipline territory and triggers my massive humiliation squick), but here there's no humiliation -- quite the opposite, in fact.

And I love Steve's confession that he'd never actually been camping either (unless being in the field in France counts), but wanted to do it anyway because it was something normal that he'd missed out on.

Man. That... that was awesome. Both of them were great, my favorite definitely being Everybody Got Naked and We Got Cap Back Day (it's never an official Avengers day unless -someone- gets naked, I've noticed).

I really liked that one because the plot was, well, plausible. Like, it was a really, really good idea. Totally believable. Especially because I know whatever Bendis comes up with is gonna suck. They're still running around going, "No, no, Steve's really dead, we promise", but man... I miss the guy. That's why I'm a sucker for Civil War fix-it. So yeah, it was great. I liked the tone of it - gets all angsty, then that sort of self-deprecating sarcasm gets mixed in, then some more angst, and finally some dark bits of humor added to the batch... loved it. I'd quote something, but then I'd just end up quoting the whole damn thing.

You, sir, are made of win. (-.-)\m/

Oh, I love these so much!

Cap Back:

ooo this was too good. the thoughts that tony has about missing peter and the why he thinks of steve's eyes as still beautiful... even on the battlefield ::wibble::

and i always wondered why the skrull kept the people they replaced alive... i HOPE that they are alive... and a type of psychic link or necessary bond that makes it so the real people have to stay alive for the full memory transfers to work is a really good idea.

(oh and as awesome and heart breaking as the first one was... this line had me giggle involuntarily --"I fought my way out butt-naked, just like you taught me.") --- Cap taught him to fight butt naked :P

Off Grid:
oh dear lord-- donkey balls ROFL
---"I reserve the right to play Minesweeper." ::hugs sweet bickering old married couple Steve and Tony:: I love LOVE L-O-V-E established relationship banter. :D

::kisses Steve for defending that his Shield is more then enough for the godless killing machines that are bears::

The Hank McCoy and Hank Pym scientist thing... yeah confusing! Try having BOTH be a major characters in your fic :P i gave up and called Beast Henry :D

And after the ticks (:P) everything else was just YUM ^_______________^
