Welcome to a new edition of the Cap-Iron Man Community Newsletter! What a year it has been… we hope that everyone's new year has started off well, and we look forward to seeing some fantastic works from you in 2021. In the meantime, let's enjoy what December 2020 brought us, keep appreciating the Holiday Exchange works being revealed, and get ready for the Cap-IM Reverse Bang and Remix Madness!

This newsletter gives you an overview of what's been happening at cap_ironman, which upcoming Steve/Tony events to look out for, and a round-up of all the wonderful things that our lovely Steve/Tony creators shared with us since the last newsletter.

• The Cap-IM Holiday Exchange and Community Gifts event works are being revealed! Check out all the fantastic works so far in our AO3 Collection and follow the reveals posts posted each day on our social media.


• We're asking the Cap-IM community members to give us feedback about events and engagement — we'd love to hear from all of our 9K+ followers, whether you participate in our events as a creator or not! Please check in through our survey before Jan 24.


• The 2021 Cap-IM Reverse Bang is now open for art and fanvid submissions! See the Event Guidelines here.


• Our Remix Madness challenge (open to all ages) will start on Jan 10; you can see our Information Masterpost here.


• Comment Bingo (Round 5) is open - you can request a card here throughout the round.

• fandomtrees is a multifandom gifting fest which has some needy trees that want filling!


• The Snowflake Challenge is here! Running all of Jan, on odd-numbered day a challenge will be posted for you to fulfill. There's no deadlines and it's an all-inclusive event.


• Chocolate Box, a low pressure, low commitment multifandom gift exchange is open for signups until Jan 7.


• Marvellous Aces have a Valentines' event open to writers and artists — signups close on Jan 14.


• Lights on Park Ave Round 17 will run through January. The prompt is "dreams" this month.


• Write Short and Sweet posts a table of prompts once a month, and the challenge is to write a one, two or three sentence story for each prompt!


• The Fancake theme of the month is "everybody lives/nobody dies!". You have till Jan 31 to rec your faves in the community.


• Marvel Holiday Movie Promptfest is running until Jan 31.


• Marvel Fluff Bingo is open for card requests until March 16.

This monthly roundup is for all fanworks people felt like sharing with the cap-ironman Community. To have your Steve/Tony works included in the roundups, you can:

• post or announce your work in one of our community spaces: our Dreamwidth or Livejournal
• post to our Cap-Iron Man Bingo Collection on AO3 or Cap-Iron Man Fanworks Collection on AO3
• leaving a fill in current SteveTony Kink Meme round
• post on Tumblr or Twitter and mention cap_ironman (so that we get a notification).

Tony's handling being soul bonded to an old-fashioned alpha who can't stand him about as well as you'd expect.

While out on a mission, Tony is caught in a blast and injured. Steve does his best to make sure that his boyfriend doesn't feel useless while he's out of commission.

⭐ My Best Friend's Wedding (616, 5083 words, M) by Jellybeanforest

Howard Stark pressures his son to marry the daughter of a fellow industrialist, socialite and heiress Joanna Nivena. Tony reluctantly agrees, but his best friend, Rhodey, disapproves because:

A: Tony isn’t a pawn in his father’s business plans, and
B: Tony is gay.

He is not about to let Tony make the biggest mistake of his life. So, Rhodey takes him to Las Vegas for his bachelor party and hires the first male stripper Tony shows any interest in for a private dance in the back rooms.

⭐ Small Weird Love (The Avengers, 13140 words, M) by haemodye

Tony glances down at the skirt of tentacles that currently make up the lower half of his body, and a frisson of heat shimmers up his spine. They’re a beautiful, deep carnelian red. Tiny chromatophores of darker bloody scarlet and brilliant, bio-luminescent gold dot the landscape of slick skin like freckles, able to shift in pattern and shade if he tries hard enough. Bone white suckers line the underside in perfect rows, gleaming and thickly muscled, bluish in the shadows of their folds.
Okay. So. Maybe it’s a little bit of a kink.
When a magical mishap results in Tony swapping his legs for tentacles, he's absolutely mortified. How is he supposed to face Steve? Steve can't possibly want him like this. Right? Right...

⭐ the groundwork of disapprobation (The Avengers, 1516 words, T) by haemodye

Steve and Tony don't touch skin to skin until their first handshake at Bethesda Fountain. There, in front of Bruce and SHIELD and everyone, they discover that they're soulmates.

Neither of them quite know how to feel about this development.

Steve knows Tony's not ready to complete their bond. He understands why. But that doesn't prevent him from aching to touch his soulmate every waking minute.

⭐ Undercover (Marvel, 997 words, M) by ShadowsintheClouds

Tony and Steve have been tasked by Fury to go on an undercover mission to weed out some HYDRA agents. The catch? They have to go undercover in a gay bar. Can the couple stay focused on the task at hand or will they spend the entire night encapsulated by each other?

As we start the new year, let's look back at Steve and Tony's beginning in Earth 616, Marvel comics' main continuity. The Avengers recover Captain America from a block of ice in Avengers v1 #4 What a classic!
