CAP-IRONMAN Holiday Exchange and Community Gifts 2020

It’s the twelfth and final day of reveals! Each day we will be revealing gifts created by 2020 Cap-Iron Man Holiday Exchange and Community Gifts Event participants. The gifts will remain anonymous until January 11th, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the works and guess the identities of creators. (Remember, if you've got a work in the collection, please remain anonymous until after creator reveals!)

Here are today’s gifts!

cowbird: brood parasites, which lay their eggs in the nests of other bird species.

★ It's Perfect Power for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 2607 words)

The light dissipates as quickly as it had come, and Tony gets to his feet as soon as it does. He's seeing stars and he can hear Bucky shouting from behind him, but he needs to get to Steve, needs to make sure that he's okay, that the damn artifact hasn't hurt him or worse. He makes his way halfway over to the couch, stumbling blindly with a vicious, vindictive sort of relief for his nights of drunken stupor that make it all too easy to find his way to the couch. He's almost to Steve's side when he gets a good look at the gaping expression on Steve's face and the hint of tears in his eyes.

"Mom?"

When Sarah Rogers appears in Tony's lab, both of her boys need her more than they ever thought. And maybe, so does one other lost little boy that just needs a mother's love.

★ Keep This to Myself for gottalovev (MCU, 1288 words)

It had started last New Year’s Eve when Tony had gotten drunk on Thor’s mead and woken up in the workshop to a list of resolutions he hadn’t remembered making. They had ranged from ‘convince Clint to dye his hair purple for a week’ to ‘set honeybear up on a blind date with Carol’, and most of them had been completely ridiculous. One caught his attention though:

Kiss Steve Rogers before midnight next New Year’s Eve.

★ Meeting the Sheriff under the Mistletoe for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel 1872, 169 words)

“Well, Sheriff?” Tony said, eyes drifting upward to the bunch of mistletoe pinned to the door above them.

A spell falls on Tony during a mission, and he can't help but share his thoughts.

Steve's shirt is missing. There's no way it could have got up and walked away on it's own.

★ what doesn’t kill me makes me want you more for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 5000 words)

Steve thinks they're dating. Tony thinks they're in a relationship. Angst ensues.

★ When You Have Friends Like These for DepressingGreenie (MCU, 307 words)

Steve chuckles, low and soft but otherwise keeps himself hidden and quiet, so as to not disturb the group of students studying at the table behind him in the cafe. He trembles, does his best not to bust out laughing like he wants too.
