Welcome to a new edition of the Cap-Iron Man Community Newsletter! We're a little late this month so that we can show off ALL the fabulous Reverse Bang entries this year in our Event Masterlist, as well as our STONY Trivia Quiz winners! The Universe Medley Fest continues, and Big Bang writers are starting on their drafts. If that's not enough to keep you busy, don't forget to check out all the other events coming up 😉

This newsletter gives you an overview of what's been happening at cap_ironman, which upcoming Steve/Tony events to look out for, and a round-up of all the wonderful things that our lovely Steve/Tony creators shared with us since the last newsletter.

• Our third STONY Trivia Quiz has taken place and winners have received their badges!. With 6 teams this round, we're pretty stoked about the success of the event, and hope everyone had fun.


• The 2021 Big Bang is underway! Check out our event guidelines here—and don't forget that this year, podficcers, fanvidders, manip and gif artists can all claim summaries!


• It's Avengers Academy Month until the end of June 15! Creators to post and share works themed to this universe—no minimum requirements, and all worktypes and collabs welcome. Next up is Marvel Noir! You can see the full rules and schedule here.


• The 2021 Reverse Bang is done for the year, and the Event Masterlist is up for everyone to peruse. Enjoy the lovely new content and remember to leave kudos and comments 💜


• Check out our round-up of fabulous fanworks for Earth's Mightiest Heroes Month of our ongoing Cap-IM Universe Medley Fest!


• Round 6 of Cap-IM Comment Bingo is ongoing, and you can request a card herethroughout the round.


• The current STONY Bingo ends on July 31; you can request a card throughout the round, or another card if you've already reached a bingo!


• Don't forget that as part of the Universe Medley Fest we're encouraging people to host universe-themed mini events of their own! However, you can always advertise or host your Stony and Steve & Tony events on cap_ironman platforms — for more info check out our guidelines.

• The June Something is a fandom-meta event with lots of standard questions that you can answer once a day for the first couple weeks of June. This year there are 20 questions.


• Crossworks Exchange nominations close June 9. Crossworks is a multifandom gift exchange for art and fic featuring crossovers and fusions; sign-ups open June 12.


• The Hate Exchange is a low-minimum multifandom exchange for relationships based on interpersonal conflict, hate, disgust, contempt, and other related negative emotions. Fanfiction, fanart and podfic are all accepted. Nominations close June 12, sign-ups open June 13.


• If I Fits, I Fics is a multifandom exchange for art or fic with a focus on cats of all kinds. This includes housecats and other felines, as well as cat-people and persons transformed into cats. Nominations close June 16, sign-ups open June 18.


• Rule 63 Exchange is for creating and receiving fanfiction or fanart in which characters have a different sex or gender than they do in canon. Nominations close June 16, sign-ups open June 19.


• Fandom Giftbox, a multifandom fanworks gifting fest inspired by Fandom Stocking, is open for sign-ups until June 21.


• The SteveTony Games are back for a second year, with the theme of Canon vs. AU. Choose your team and get ready to create: the timeline for this event is June 18 to July 18.


• The 2021 Marvel Reverse Bang is running in phases this year — the Spiderverse, Rarepair and Multiverse Phase sign-ups are open.


• A new round of Lights on Park Ave has begun; this is a low-pressure monthly prompt challenge. June's theme is "youth".


• Write Short and Sweet posts a table of prompts once a month, and the challenge is to write a one, two or three sentence story for each prompt!


• The fancake theme of the month is clones & doppelgängers. You have till the end of the month to rec your faves in the community.


• Marvel Bang sign-ups have opened. This any-Marvel-universe 10K Big Bang closes author sign-ups on July 1.


• Iddy Iddy Bang Bang is a panfandom mini-bang challenge for 5k idfic, art (including comics), and fanmixes. Sign-ups open July 10 and close July 17.
  
• You can request a card from Gen Prompt Bingo until July 31. It is a low commitment multi-fandom, multi-media bingo challenge where no prompts are specifically about romance or sex, but fills may be of any genre, style or rating.


• The Stony Trope Bingo creation period closes on September 1. You can see the cards on on their Tumblr.


• Sign-ups for the Season of Kink is a fic- and art-based bingo challenge that accepts all types of pairings – the only requirement is that the resulting fanwork is kinky! You can request a card until September 30.


• The second What2Finish charity auction to #StopAsianHate is gearing up — check out their announcement here.

This monthly roundup is for all fanworks people felt like sharing with the cap-ironman Community. To have your Steve/Tony works included in the roundups, you can:

• post or announce your work in one of our community spaces: our Dreamwidth, Livejournalor the #stony-recs channel on our Discord
• post to our Cap-Iron Man Bingo Collection on AO3 or Cap-Iron Man Fanworks Collection on AO3
• leave a fill in current SteveTony Kink Meme round
• post on Tumblr or Twitter and mention cap_ironman (so that we get a notification).

Timely is a town where trouble lurks around every corner, most of it originating with Mayor Fisk. Sheriff Steve Rogers means to protect the innocent citizens of Timely, no matter the cost. He does not count on falling in love as part of the bargain.

“He’ll be in charge of outfitting you from now on,” Fury said, sliding a personal file in front of Steve.

Steve stared down at the photograph clipped to the file. “Didn’t you say your consultant was ‘one of the country’s greatest scientific assets?’”

Fury nodded. “He’s the front runner in about five different fields so bleeding edge that you haven’t even heard of them.”

“He’s a cat.”

When an aurora lights up the NYC skyline its a beautiful sight. When Tony realizes he's de-aging and it has something to do with that event the team has to figure out to stop it - or else Tony will cease to exist in 46 days.
As each day Tony wakes up younger and younger, the team pulls together and falls apart simultaneously. Without a villain that can be fought and interrogated or an obvious path to stop the process, the team has to work though the realization of their mortality. For Steve, it means he has to come to terms with what role Tony Stark plays in his life and what life would be like to go on without him in it.

And it seems like—despite the new perspective this information gives Steve—they’re still cycling through the same arguments as ever.

Steve and Tony spend a quiet evening on the terrace of their summer house. The Italian sun is setting at the horizon above the Mediterranean Sea when the sound of a guitar makes Steve look up from his sketches.
