Cap-Iron Man Newsletter and Fanworks Round-Up September 2021



Welcome to a new edition of the Cap-Iron Man Community Newsletter! We've just finished up our mid-year Alphabet Challenge, so there's a bunch of new works to enjoy! There's only one week to go before Big Bang draft stories are due, so get writing — we have got one last encouragement chat lined up for you. Plus, there are plenty of great up-coming events for you spread the Steve/Tony love, and the Cap-IM HE announcement is just around the corner 😉

This newsletter gives you an overview of what's been happening at [community profile] cap_ironman, which upcoming Steve/Tony events to look out for, and a round-up of all the wonderful things that our lovely Steve/Tony creators shared with us since the last newsletter.



  • There's a new script that automatically sets your default language to English when posting AO3 works! This is also a timely reminder that cap-ironman has a small collection of formatting scripts and coding tips as part of our AO3 Posting Guide.

  • The 2021 Big Bang draft submission deadline is September 15. Check out our event guidelines here—and don't forget that this year, podficcers, fanvidders, manip and gif artists can all claim summaries!

  • The Cap-Ironman Mid-Year Fanworks Alphabet Challenge 2021 masterlist is here! Come enjoy 116 new works.

  • It's 1872 Month until the end of September 15! Creators to post and share works themed to this universe—no minimum requirements, and all worktypes and collabs welcome.

  • Round 6 of Cap-IM Comment Bingo is ongoing, and you can request a card here throughout the round.

  • A new round of STONY Bingo has started; you can request a card throughout the round, or another card if you've already reached a bingo! Round 1 participants, stand by for the prize post.

  • Don't forget that as part of the Universe Medley Fest we're encouraging people to host universe-themed mini events of their own! However, you can always advertise or host your Stony and Steve & Tony events on [community profile] cap_ironman platforms — for more info check out our guidelines.

  • Multifandom Tropefest is a fanfic and fanart exchange that matches on freeform tropes. Sign ups close September 11.

  • Trick or Treat is an art and fic exchange where each gift will be a "trick" (more horror, occult, supernatural, or scary) or a "treat" (more sweet, sexy, or fluffy). Sign ups close September 18.

  • Sleepy September is a multifandom ficathon with prompts relating to sleep open till the end of September.
  • Remix Revival is a multifandom remix challenge similar to the cap-ironman Remix Event. Signups for the exchange have closed, but Remix Madness is open.

  • It's SteveTonySeptember! A whole month for Steve/Tony love run on Twitter, though you can participate on any platform.

  • The Fancake theme for September is crack. Fancake is a thematic recommendation community where all members are welcome to post recs, and fanworks of all shapes and sizes are accepted.

  • A new round of Lights on Park Ave has begun; this is a low-pressure monthly prompt challenge. September's theme is old age.

  • The Fall Into Fall Festival invites you to post multifandom prompts until September 15. Then you have a month to create a "leaf-pile" of fills until October 15.

  • Sign-ups for the Season of Kink is a fic- and art-based bingo challenge that accepts all types of pairings – the only requirement is that the resulting fanwork is kinky! You can request a card until September 30.

  • Pinch-hits is a community dedicated to advertising pinch hits for exchanges, challenges, and other fannish events. Check it out to see how you can participate.
