cap_ironman | 2022 Cap-IM Community Gifts Event Guidelines

We hope you're looking forward to one of our most beloved traditions during the Holiday Exchange times! It is time for Community Gifts again!

The Cap-Ironman Community Gifts event is where anyone and everyone are invited to submit and fill prompts which are revealed alongside this year's Holiday Exchange works. All completed fills are gifts for the community and all its members to enjoy!

You don't have to take part in the Holiday Exchange to submit or create Community Gifts (but you can join both!). There is no sign-up and no minimum requirement for any of the fills. The four main rules are:

★ The prompts and fills must be focused on Steve Rogers and Tony Stark.
★ The works must be completed and created solely for the Community Gifts (and no other event).
★ The works must be kept anonymous and a secret until after creator reveals.
★ Most importantly: be excellent to each other!

Before submitting make sure your Community Gift abide by the General Event Guidelines.

October 9: Community Gifts prompt submissions open
November 5, 10:00 PM EDT(what time is it for me?): Community Gifts prompt submissions close
November 6: Community Gifts prompts list is posted
December 28: Start of gift reveals
January 7, 11:00 PM EST (what time is it for me?): Community Gifts are due
January 11: Creator reveals

★PROMPT SUBMISSIONS (click to expand)

Prompt submissions will run from October 9 and will close on October 29. During this time, anyone can anonymously submit Steve/Tony and Steve&Tony prompts using the submission form.

There is no sign-up required to participate in Community Gifts, and you don’t have to commit to creating a gift in order to submit a prompt. This means that submitted community gift prompts are not guaranteed to receive a fill.

Prompting Rules

Text prompts can be either as short as a simple phrase, or as long as two paragraphs.
Prompts can also be things like links to images, poetry, and music.
Prompts cannot be existing fanworks unless the creator has a clear transformative works statement.
You can submit multiple prompts. Each should be a separate submission.
All ratings are welcome for both prompts and fills. Please mark NSFW prompts by ticking the NSFW box on the submission form.

Only one option can be selected for Canon. There are two options that aren’t specific canons: the “AU” option, and the “Other” option for unlisted canons and for crossovers.

Prompt Description: After 1872 Steve dies, he can’t seem to move on and finds himself haunting Tony and his descendants, fading in and out of their lives. Steve has resigned himself to never being seen, heard, or able to interact with the living world, until Noir Tony finds an artifact that allows him to see the dead.

★GIFT SUBMISSIONS (click to expand)

Prompts will be revealed on October 30, and prompts can be filled by anybody interested. You can fill as many prompts as you like, and you can fill the same prompt multiple times!

If you are a participant in the Exchange, we ask that you complete your Exchange gift before creating a Community Gift.

Gifts should be new and created solely for the 2022 Cap-Ironman Community Gifts event.

Works created are gifts to the community, not to an individual

There are no minimum work requirements, aside from being a complete, stand-alone work.

Gifts can be fics, art, poetry, podfics, manips, fanvids, or any other type of fanwork

Gifts can be created in any language. Just be aware that the original prompter may not be able to read a non-English gift, and thus might not comment.

All works must abide by Cap-IM's General Event Work Requirements.

Please list the prompt in the summary or author's note (either at the beginning or end of your work, in case of spoilers).

Community Gifts must remain anonymous until creator reveals.

Once you finish your gift, submit it to the 2022 Captain America/Iron Man Holiday Exchange collection on AO3 by January 7. Make sure that in the "Gift this work to" section, you type in Cap Iron Man Community.
