Cap_Ironman Weekly News, Week Ending 10 July 2011

Welcome to the [community profile] cap_ironman/[livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman newsletter. For those of you who celebrated Cap's birthday, I hope you've all recovered.

Marvel has posted an interview with Captain America co-creator Joe Simon, who talks about his excitement for the movie and his new memoir Joe Simon: My Life in Comics. How-To Geek has a collection of Marvel wallpapers, including a Cap one near the bottom (I think the Storm one is my fav, though). And for our members who are fans of Iron Man: Armored Adventures, here are five stills from the second season, which airs this Wednesday on NickToons.

As always, any discussion - on-topic or off-topic - is welcome in the newsletter comments!

[livejournal.com profile] grand_duc posted a fic called Wedding Woes.

[livejournal.com profile] nightwalker posted a fic called Breaking News.

[livejournal.com profile] fictivore made a pimping post for Iron Man: Armored Adventures.

[livejournal.com profile] bunnyfication posted a series of fancomics called What if New Avengers were a fifties nuclear family?

[livejournal.com profile] derryderrydown posted a fic called A Family Tradition.

[personal profile] jazzypom posted a Chris Evans Interview with the NYT here on LJ and here on DW.

[livejournal.com profile] taiyou_to_tsuki posted a fanart called The Artist and the Engineer.

[livejournal.com profile] kiarasayre posted a fanmix called maybe I lost my direction.

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments. If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [personal profile] muccamukk, or [personal profile] valtyr.

I finish my bigbang rough draft! Right now I'm happy.

I'm planning a Ult. Steve/Tony fic and this time I hope I can outline properly. I see the snowflake method, the index card method and the others.

What about you all? Do you outline? If so, how do you do it?
tsukinofaerii: Too Hot for Plot (too hot for plot)

I'm fond of the timeline method (start at the beginning and move along until you reach the end), along with many many rambling notes in the margins/on napkins/in random text files/shouted to myself in public. I tend to know my start and my end, so it's the squishy center that I try to focus on.
tsukinofaerii: I need a hero (Steve: I Need a Hero)

Mwahaha and here I was just looking for wallpaper. :D I agree, the Storm one is the best, but the Cap and Ms. Marvel ones aren't far behind, and there's a link to some pretty spiffy movie!Tony.

The less said about my bang progress the better. (blows bangs out of eyes) Considering that this is exactly what happened with its predecessor, I suppose that's a good sign.

Who else is revved up for the last Potter?
muccamukk: Wanda walking away, surrounded by towering black trees, her red cloak bright. (Marvel: Happy Steve)

I can't get over the Steve's shield. It looks like it'd going to hit in him the face every time he turns around. Storm's a little bit lighter than she could be, but I've seen worse. I like how muscled she is and hey, pants! I keep thinking Sue Storm is flipping me off.

I really ought to catch up on The Adventures of Teen Tony and the Roller Armour.

Second.

That shield just looks like it's sitting way too high in that image. Also the way it's drawn, Steve looks like he's got a snake stuffed down where his abs should be? Hm.
I like the three-part gatefold image though, pretty art. And look at She-Hulk being all buff and awesome!
