not fic, but links to fanart, robots and weird stuff...
So I signed up for the Alphabet Challenge for 'O' and 'V' but life surprised me by becoming 31 flavours of crazy this month and I'm having a hard time. Suffice it to say - because I'm not into talking about my personal life - that I'm not up to finishing my stories right now. I will finish and post both stories, but unfortunately not this week.
To keep this apology on topic, and in penance, I bring you some random Cap and/or Iron Man links:
- Captain America Urban Legends: Jonathan Frakes played Cap?!
- The other Captain America. The one with the engine.
- According to Wikiality: Captain America (1941-2007) was the original protector of America, hero for our troops, and keeper of the Holy Documents of Truthiness Law. Captian America was given his powers to fight the Nazis during World War II. Stephen Colbert is Captain America in disguise, trying to relate to the commonfolk and the heroes: people that watch his show. Search also for God and Jesus.
- Building The Real Iron Man: Popular Science takes a look at the Xos Skeleton. See also the HAL exoskeleton.
- Project Rooftop takes a stab at redesigning the armor. Some entries are ridiculously cool.
- Realistic Iron Man cosplay? Kind of. He built his own repulsor.
And from Marvel's October solicits - the Knaufs (ex of Iron Man: Director of SHIELD) will be writing a Cap story. With robot Nazis. And schnitzel. Who could ask for more?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THEATER OF WAR -- OPERATION ZERO-POINT
Written by DANIEL & CHARLES KNAUF
Pencils & Cover by MITCH BREITWEISER
The first in a series of specials covering the length and breadth of the larger-than-life legend of Captain America, as told by the industry’s leading experts in the field! First up, it’s 1944, and wouldn't you know it? Them sneaky Nazis have managed to crack the secrets of electro-magnetic physics…yeah, that's right: apples may fall down in the free world, but schnitzels are falling up in the skies over a mysterious lab in a Polish forest, thanks to a little help from a nearby forced-labor camp. Sure, we could send in the Marines, but why bother when we've got Captain America?! But even Cap may be meeting his match against the lab's sadistic cybernetic commandant. Because everyone knows, the only thing worse than a Nazi is a Robot Nazi!
56 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99
