Iron Man: The End

This is my first post to this community which is so full of awesome! Anyway, so as you all probably know, Iron Man: Director of SHIELD is coming to an end. But apparently there is going to be a new Iron Man series/project called Iron Man: The End which is about a 70 year old Tony Stark dealing with aging and possibly the end of his career as Iron Man... And... he's married! (fic prompt? ;p) If you're interested in more info, you can read about it here.

I also definitely have mixed feelings about this project but reading that both Michelinie and Layton will be on it makes me feel a bit more positive. I love Layton's pencils, and Michelinie wrote some of the best Iron Man plots of all time.

And as much as it makes the slasher in me pout, I can't be surprised that he's married. I mean, as much as it might seem like it sometimes, the canon writers aren't actually shipping him with Steve. *grins*

But no matter what happens in this project, I know that I'll consider it, as I do all future-stories (that aren't time travel), to be an Alternate Universe. If nothing else, canonical events in his main title will inevitably make his current timeline inconsistent with any future they dream up, so it pretty much has to be AU.

Thanks for linking to this! I hadn't heard anything about it.

I'm not convinced that Bendis, at least, doesn't ship Tony/Steve at least a little.

*g* After The Confession, I admit that I have to wonder, too. But I try not to assume. :-)
