Marvel Adventures: Avengers #27

So. Much. Love.

I shall put the rest of the squee behind a cut so as not to spoil those who don't like spoilers...

So, the first half the issue is Storm, Giant-Girl, Ant-Man, Hulk, and Spider-Man at a country fair. Cute, but I was pouting because of no Tony. But the story ended and I was only halfway through the pages in the issue. Hmmm.

I turned the page.

And proceeded to wallow in the second half of the issue, in which Steve and Tony spend their day off together. They have fun fighting incompetent villains, play basketball dressed in t-shirts and short (during which Steve teases Tony because Steve spotted him twenty points and Tony pouts because Steve wouldn't let him wear the armor--not even a couple pieces!), and it ends with them cheerfully deciding to go grab a burger. Also, they are grinning and joking through the whole thing.

If I didn't want to reread it lots, I'd spread out the pages and roll all over them for awhile. *grins*

I must download this one so that I can make icons. So much cute!

Okay, I only read up to the point where you said "Steve and Tony spend their day off together."

When I read the preview, I thought it would be Cap and Iron Man free... but knowing this... YAY!!! Too bad I switched to pre-ordering online (/so/ much cheaper), so I must wait until my shipment comes in. (Which is estimated to be coming Tuesday, a day later than last time. D: )

In other new comics news: If Bendis doesn't tell us what the **** has happened to the real Hank Pym and where he is soon (also Jarvis) I'm going to be ready to strangle him, Confession or no Confession.

It will be a very effective treat. *g* Although I am now buying single issues, I haven't bought Mighty Avengers. I'm still reading it, but I'm not paying for that title until the Mighty Avengers actually appear in it again. It's been about six months since they appeared in their own title! I mean, not that I begrudge Hank "screen" time, but he's not an active Avenger right now, is he?

:-( *hugs* I think there's only two issues left in the Secret Invasion main title. Hopefully that means we'll find out in a month or two, max.

Marvel Adventures may be written for 9 year olds or thereabouts, but I love it. I read MA: Avengers, MA: Iron Man (although it is ending), and now I've started the new MA: Super Heroes (with Spidey, Hulk, and Iron Man). They are fun and light and cheerful and the art is extremely pretty. I seriously like the art better than most 616-verse art these days. If you like angst and drama they probably wouldn't be your thing, but if you need a break from the depressingness of the 616-verse right now, they're perfect.

Rune has put up a full version of the second half the issue, for those folks who can't get a hold of a copy of their own. :-) But it's totally, totally worth the trip to the comic shop to own it!

I love how every time Tony and Steve fire up a new team it seems like they're adopting kids more than putting together a team of superheros, hehe.
