Snow Patrol+Steve/Tony

Okay...I was riding home today on the bus and listening to music when I realized something.  Did any of you out there ever notice how well Snow Patrol's CD Eyes Open......FITS...with the Steve/Tony relationship?  I mean, almost all the songs bring to mind some aspect of their time together.  It's amazing.  :D

And being the fangirl that I am, I had to share with you:

I thought about just putting up lyrics only, cause I'm one of those people that likes others to draw their own opinions.  But I decided I'd share my brief thoughts on some of them, cause...I like sharing. ^.^  So much so that I'm willing to upload them for your listening pleasure.

You're All I Have

You're cinematic razor sharp
A welcome arrow through the heart
Under your skin feels like home
Electric shocks on aching bones

(A sweet, upbeat song about having one person who you can turn to for anything.  I see this one from Steve's POV.)

Hands Open

It's hard to argue when
you won't stop making sense
But my tongue still misbehaves and it
keeps digging my own grave with my

Hands open, and my eyes open
I just keep hoping
That your heart opens

Chasing Cars

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

(Fluuuuff. XD)

Shut Your Eyes

And when the worrying starts to hurt
and the world feels like graves of dirt
Just close your eyes until
you can imagine this place, yeah, our secret space at will

(Hurt/Comfort!!  Sort of....  I think it is ambiguous enough that it can be from either Tony or Steve's POV.)

It's Beginning to Get to Me

We need to feel breathless with love
And not collapse under its weight
I'm gasping for the air to fill
My lungs with everything I've lost

(A gorgeous song.  About a relationship that is slowly breaking down from the partners' coldness.  And despite the depressing subject matter, it has a great upbeat tempo. To me, definitely an early Civil War song.)

You Could be Happy

You could be happy, I hope you are
You made me happier than I'd been by far
Somehow everything I own smells of you
And for the tiniest moment it's all not true

(THIS one is slow, and sad.  A goodbye song.  TT.TT)

Make This Go on Forever

All that I keep thinking throughout this whole fight
Is it could take my whole damn life to make this right
This splintered mast I'm holding on won't save me long
Because I know fine well that what I did was wrong

(Regret!  The tone of this song is very heavy, and full of regret.  It reminded me of the scene in Civil War when Tony and Steve met in the ruined mansion and attempted to talk about why they were doing what they were doing.)

Open Your Eyes

The anger swells in my guts
And I won't feel these slices and cuts
I want so much to open your eyes
'Cause I need you to look into mine
Tell me that you'll open your eyes

(Breathtaking song.  The one that made me fall in love with the band.  Civil War through and through, though with a hopeful feel to it.  I can just see images of fighting and emotion through the crescendo at the end.  If you download only one of these songs...download this one.)

The Finish Line

A distant motorcade and suddenly there's joy
The snow and ticker tape blurs all my senses numb
It's like the finish line where everything just ends
The crack of radios seems close enough to touch

(If ever a song was bittersweet...  This blends just the right amount of heartache and hope in one.  I see this as Tony's POV, as a mixed-feeling "where do we go from here?" after Steve's death.)
