Hello, I'm new not just here (I've been lurking the last few days) but to the whole Avengers side of Marvel comics (I was strictly original New Mutants, Spiderman, and some old X-man for a long time). But, my best friend has recently got me into the Avengers via Steve/Tony stuffs.

Anyway, to thank her for helping with a situation, I drew some Steve/Tony fanart for her recently, and she suggested I post it. So I'm posting it here because I figure I should do what the person loaning me all the Avenger comics suggests I do *L*

So there we go. I'm more or less Happy with how Tony came out, Steve I might change around a bit more, though I think I got the general idea.

I am actually very fond of your Steve! You manage to have him smirking at Tony in a believable way, and a smirking!Cap is difficult to manage.

Also, naked Steve is pretty. *pets him.*

Thank you s much! I do actually like how Steve came out, I'm just not sure I'm gonna settle on that exact design. Each time I draw a character I've never drawn a lot of before, the design gets tweaked a bit. But I think Tony is pretty much done being tweaked. I can't see that I'd vary much from that. Maybe his hair a bit.

I like that very much. Your style is distinctive, and the slightly sketchy character combined with your choice of colour works very well. :)
(At least for me you don't have to warn for sketches. I prefer them to too-polished and too-flawless art.)

Thank you! This is kinda how things look when I'm too lazy to refine a pencil sketch but feel it needs some color to really be finished. I love whoever invented photoshop, though watercolors work well for this too.

Me too! I love seeing the process sometimes more than the result. It's fascinating to me. I love when artists post sketches, but I figured I'd give a heads up so people knew what to expect.

OH whew, you have no idea how good that is to hear. I draw a little of children so when I try and do you know manly superheros I'm always afraid my style will look too . . childish for want of a better word.

Oh and I do like the Steve image I have there. I just have the sense that it might evolve a bit more, where as I think I'm pretty firm on what Iron Man will look like. I don't know though.

I hate to say this but I really don't have a much NM stuff online. I was doing fanart for that over a decade ago and so a lot of it has since been pulled. I'm just starting to get into comic fanart again.

The only thing I got is this picture of Illyana (http://www.oshinchan.com/fanart/illyana.jpg) from about 2002, and this group of work pen and highlighter work doodles (http://pics.livejournal.com/ani_bester/pic/000ek0gg) that has Rahne and Danielle in the right hand corner.

Thank you! I'm having fun experimenting with photoshop. I'm used to non digital painting so I'm slowly(like over the last 6 years *L*)working out what all I can do with digital paint . . whihc is actually fairly similar to no digital paint.

These are wonderful! Very expressive--Steve in particular, which impresses me, because Steve is really hard to make expressive while still looking like himself. I think the Steve in the lower left corner is my favorite. His face is just so beautifully, rendered, especially his lips. And eyebrows. And eyes...mmmm, Steve. :-D

Actually, I'd kind of like to make that image of Steve into an icon, if you don't mind me playing with your art and maybe blanking Tony out of it to make a Steve icon. I'm short on Steve-only icons. Would that be okay? Feel free to say no--it's your art. :-)

And yes, by all means feel free to make an icon of this or anythign else I ever post. One thing that came of my visual art background is I'm one of the few fanartists I know who considers icons transforamtive enough that I don't need to be asked first if anyone wants to icon my work. =P

Credit is welcome, but seriously, after trying my hand at icons, I think icons are an art form in their own way so yeah feel free to use my art for that, and I'm very flattered!

Hey there! It took me way to long to get around to making this icon. Mostly because I had to find and download and figure out how to use free image editing software for a Mac. *sheepish* Anyway, I kind of suck at making icons, and I was working with new software, but I wanted to show you what I ended up with, anyway. So here it is. :-)

I wish it was a little sharper, but though it looks fine on my computer, this is how it uploads to LJ. Weird. Still, I still like it.

This is absoutely gorgeous -- I love the water-color-style coloring over the sketchy line art, and like

crimsonquills said, the Steve in the lower right corner is especially beautiful (the lips! the highlight over his cheekbone!).

There's so much emotion in this! and the composition is great! not to mention that you make them look good!
