Three drabbles, two ficlets

Hi folks! Minor fic dump here. The first three are drabbles I did in the comments to a post to my journal. I gave them titles for crossposting and archiving purposes. The fourth one is another drabble that transformed into a ficlet. The fifth one is a ficlet that I just realized I never crossposted.

First three are reposted here. I've linked to the original posts of the other two.

Tony rarely thought about the fact that Steve's history meant that there were a lot of things he had no experience with. He'd adapted to the modern world with a speed that made Tony wonder if the super soldier serum had mental effects as well as physical ones.

But every now and then Steve would run into some experience or tech that Tony took for granted. His reactions never failed to make Tony see tired, ordinary things in a new light, but this was the first time that something ordinary made him see Steve in a new light.

Steve's slow, careful first steps into the hot water had made Tony grin in amusement. But as Steve immersed himself his expression transformed into a picture of bliss. He sank down onto one of the submerged benches, leaned back against the rim of the tub, and closed his eyes. His mouth was open a little, his breath deep. The heat of the water brought a flush to his fair skin. After a moment he sighed and sank deeper into the water.

Tony stared, heart pounding, and was very glad Steve's eyes were closed.

Licking his lips unconsciously, Tony reached out to turn on the jets.

Tony hadn't intended to say anything. He'd wanted sex with Steve to be like their friendship: relaxed and comfortable most of the time, passionate occasionally. If he said something, it might become nervous and tense. But after they'd lain curled up together, kissing slowly, for several minutes, Tony pulled back, looked into Steve's warm gaze and spoke without thinking: "I've never done this before."

Steve blinked, his wandering hands going still. "Been with a man?"

Tony nodded.

Steve smiled softly. "Thank you. For giving me a chance," he clarified.

Tony had to laugh. "You've given me so many, I think I could spare one."

"We need a house," Steve announced.

Tony looked up from the blueprints he'd spread out on the floor. Steve was watching the TV, not looking at him. "Why would we need a house?"

Steve turned to look at him, expression concerned. "We're completely divorced from people up here, Tony. It's impossible for a neighbor to drop by, or for us to be a part of things that build a community."

Tony was pretty sure that they didn't want to encourage people to 'drop by' their home, considering some of the enemies they'd made, but he wasn't about to say so. "Things that build a community?"

Steve waved at the TV. "Like trick-or-treating."

Tony looked at the screen; a news program was running a segment on Halloween. They were currently advising parents to check their children's candy for razor blades and needle marks. He suspected the irony was lost on Steve. "Children can trick-or-treat here."

"In Avengers Tower?" Steve replied dryly.

"The Young Avengers have headquarters here, too."

Steve laughed. "They aren't that young."

Tony grinned. "They still run around in costume."

"Does that mean you and I should be trick-or-treating, too?"

"Knock on my door and I can promise you a treat," Tony leered.

Steve threw a throw cushion at him.

I love the third drabble - gosh, I really need some good fluff today... >___>

Woo love these snippets

"Knock on my door and I can promise you a treat," Tony leered.

ROFL to Tony XD

For some reason, I really adore the second one. Maybe because I have a fondness for virgin!fic but probably also because it's a nice change from the norm - Tony usually written as so experienced. *happy sigh* I don't know, I just loved it.

...okay, damn. Now I'm sure I've managed to develop a thing for virgin!fic because that sounds like the most incredibly awesome thing in the history of aweseome. <3

Would you be amenable to bribery? >.> Not that I can guarantee actually having bribery, but if I did? *curious*

(even the cracked out vampire fic, for a long time I was at my screen going... yeah, it could happen. It's Marvel) but the first one snagged my eye, and I've reread it thrice.

That's how (in my mind's eye) I see Tony actually going from, "Oh, it's Steve," to "Oh, it's Steve" in the blink of an eye, and how attraction blooms and sticks with one person, the other person not knowing.

Lol oh man, that first one, I'd pay to see just two seconds after that.

Ahh the second one. Love that. Both the idea and how you handled it. That seems very Tony, to want to keep that to himself, (for steve's sake!) and then just blurt it.

The third one as well, I enjoyed. Steve would miss things like that, it's a shame he can't quite have it :C he'd love to go fix his old lady neighbor's furnace in exchange for some gingersnaps.

Ooh! Hot tub! What fun.

Ack! I am so ungodly behind in reading people's fic. I've been trying to make a real effort to review everything I read for the fandom, and in practice that turns out to mean that I save reading things until I know I'll have time to review them, and then end up reading them all weeks later *blushes with shame*

I love the image of Steve all blissed out in the hot tub, and Tony turning on the jets to hide his own reaction to said image (and possibly to see if he can get Steve to look even more blissed out).

And the halloween drabble is just cute ^_^.

Tony looked at the screen; a news program was running a segment on Halloween. They were currently advising parents to check their children's candy for razor blades and needle marks. He suspected the irony was lost on Steve. "

I especially love this bit -- because the irony probably is lost on Steve. Or he's determinedly ignoring it.

Very cool!
