Iron Man 2 Casting Call
SpoilerTV has posted the following possible casting call for Iron Man 2:
Producers: Marvel, Kevin Feige
Executive Producer: Louis D'Esposito
Executive Producers: David Maisel, Denis Stewart, Stan Lee
Co-Producers: Jeremy Latcham, Victoria Alonso
Associate Producer: Karen Johnson
Director: Jon Favreau
Start Date: April 2009
[MALE LEAD]
30s, Eastern European, brilliant, gritty...
[FEMALE LEAD]
20s, beautiful, speaks several languages fluently and is equally proficient in martial arts...
[BRUISER]
Russian, 20s or 30s, at least 6'2", able to perform own stunts, has the build of a MMA fighter...
--------------
My brain is thinking Hawkeye, Black Widow, and the Crimson Dynamo...
Of course, it's probably not Hawkeye, but a girl can dream :3

Black widow.. oy.
Re: Black widow.. oy.
So technically introducing Black Widow and Hawkeye in an Iron Man movie wouldn't be too bad, but i totally agree with you that if the Avengers movie is like Ultimates I'll be horribly upset D:
But Communism is like, dead.
Re: Russia, they tend to go all Pallolium (sp) on people's arses, you know?
But I'm wondering if they'll straddle both the Ultimates and marvel 616, since The Ultimates were made for Marvel dilettantes, people who liked the movies but didn't want to go through tons of canon, which is why they have the trades out like woah.
The Ultimates novels aren't bad, really. It's amazing what a bit of sympathetic characterisation can do.
Re: But Communism is like, dead.
i'm really hoping someone makes a Yakov Smirnoff joke soon :P and yeah-- I know they said they wanted to wait to show the Mandarin in the third one... but i think more building blocks should definitely be introduced in this one.
people keep telling me the books aren't that bad... there are only two right? maybe i should try one.
The books aren't that bad!
The other book is Against all enemies which doesn't really draw on a book as much as it does The Ultimate Avengers animated feature length films (especially the first one). It helps if you know who the Chitauri are and what they are capable of.
But the books are decent. I like the second one because it's Tony and Steve all snarking at each other whenever they meet, or Fury busting everyone's chops. Clint is cold and brittle, and Steve is just trying to wrap his mind around his reality.
Really recommended.
You can read the novels on their own, but it's really recommended that you know some of the Ultimates universe and characterisations, even if it's just reading the wiki entry.
