I LOVE THIS. I love Tony's dazed expression- whenever I do the dazed-and-confused-expression I always end up making the person look drunk- and Cap's little wings, of course. But I gotta say my favorite part is the way Tony's grabbing onto Steve's hand, almost out of subconscious reflex or something. I don't know, I'm babbling, this is gorgeous, YAY.

*YAY* I've been hoping you'd post art since I worked ou that your icon was fanart not official art, so I'm very happy to see this (hopefully I did not miss other posts. I'm kinda touch and go with LJ at times).

Tony's expression is great. He does indeed look dazed and confused. Steve on the other hand, looks like this may be the 5th time this battle that Tony's gotten his brain's knocked loose *L*
He kinda looks worried but also that look my mother would look if I knocked myself senseless doing something kinda dumb. You know torn between OMG you're hurt and OMG what were you thinking.

It's very Steve. I love it.

The lighting is gorgeous and really sets the tone for the whole piece.

I haven't posted anything else yet. RL keeps making my stove leak death and filling my house with repairmen, but I'm working on it.

And you're right about Steve... he's been through this so many times with Tony in canon, Tony's always getting bonked. And Steve bears all with patience, because he's the best pal in the world and knows Tony at his true worth and etc., etc.

I love how close Steve is clutching Tony to him, even though with that armor, it must not have been comfortable.

I can't see Steve WITHOUT the wings, hence I'm convinced that UltimateCap is really that jerkass US Agent guy with issues about his masculinity that Steve is too secured to have. Hence the awesomely adorable and GLORIOUS little wings.

I'm reading Operation Galactic Storm (late 70s, early 80s?), where Steve and Tony is still having a Cold War over Tony's action in the Armor Wars. When Steve called Tony on the payphone because he let Rick Jones to use his card to get away on the skybike, Tony was all bitchy, like, the Avengers is "not a shuttlebus service", but when Steve said that the guys he beat down might be getting up, Tony has already left for Steve's location on the quinjet.

Then in the cafe, after Tony's been rattle a bit, but there didn't even look to be a dent on the armor, and Steve is holding Tony again (Tony are you okay? / I'm fine it was just the metal on metal sound - paraphrase), almost like that (but a LITTLE less gay because the others were still around and the battle was still going). They'll go back to fighting later, but in that moment, yeah, they've always been friends.

Ultimates! That's it! That's probably why I habitually blank of Cap's wings... I REALLY love Ultimates 1 & 2. No excuse, though. *blush*

The coolness that happended between Cap and Steve after Armor Wars still make me melancholy to read. But at least at the end Tony humbled himself and asked for forgiveness. He was so sweet with his, "I can't be a good man like you," stuff.

I'm so glad fanfic exists and I can come over here to visit a place where their friendship still lives. :)

I tried to make them blue (well, in Tony's case blue-gray) but you're right, it doesn't read very well. I can revise it next time I'm in PS.

I love this. The colors are vibrant and well balanced which I know is a pain to do. Tony with a concussion and Steve being helpful (protective/loving) is cannon and totally a awesome cliche.
