First of all we'd like to say, YAY FOR DECEMBER AND THE START OF THE WINTER FLUFFIES! We are in [Poll #1313314][Poll #1313315]
ALSO:

• Just try to add the rating of your entry in your header so people who aren't signed in can see if they want to open what you have to offer (or at least put in there if it's NSFW). :3
  
• We are also going to add a canon questions tag-- so that people can go through and hopefully find an answer to their question before they post it to the comm. We have a plan for canon research questions we promise! So just stick with us for the time being and feel free to ask any questions that you need! <3
• And finally, the Beta List! We already added a tag for it and Rune is officially in charge of all of that. She'll make sure it says who is still actively betaing as the months go by, so feel free to PM her with any questions about betaing.

OH DUDE! I almost forgot the most important question! ICONS!!!
Should we have a comm. icon? This is what it looks like WITH and, well, everyone knows what it looks like WITHOUT-- if yes, maybe an icon competition is in order? Where people make Cap_Ironman icons and then we switch it out every month and Panda keeps all of them because she is an icon whore and icons are her ultimate weakness:O. Let us know :D

for fic:author and art:artist... is the memory section okay? because that's basically all it has-- and we're in the process of updating it. or do you want additional tags too?

i'm just contemplating the fact that it would maybe seem redundant?

Yes, the memories section works fine, but it has been my experience that tagging is more intuitive and easier to do, finding the fics is as easy either way. It was really a suggestion, not a request :)

Any tags we put have to be manually added to the Tag List on the navigation bar, so adding for each author and artist would be a lot of work. But there is merit to adding artist and author to THIS (http://community.livejournal.com/cap_ironman/tag/) list.

We could add a link to that tag list on the navigation bar that way it's not just on the profile page.

do you think that would be easy to find?

I didn't know you were adding the tag entries manually to the sidebar. S2 styles have tag list as default on the sidebar, and it's updated automatically. But if you do it 'by hand', then link to the tags page would be quite enough.

I like it with an icon, and it would be cool to have little contests every once in a while and have people make an icon for the comm. and vote on which one should be next. Or not, just a suggestion.

uh....i don't know if this is helpful, but i'm starting to go back and pull together a type of .... "timeline" of Iron Man, Avengers, and possibly Captain America issues. I'm working on IM v3 at the moment (v4 is done, v5 is gonna keep going until its done) but... yeah >>

but, well, i've made a good dent. gonna spell check v4 info and post it at some point this week/weekend. I'm onyl going back to volume 2 on all of them. And sticking to the main titles (no West Coast Avengers or anything) mostly to keep myself sane. All the saaaaaame....I might be doing this well until the Avengers movie comes out. Shit. I'm totally out of my mind ;;

Good idea, but the realization might be a bit problematic.
For which icons can be voted? We need the comm´s opinion on which icons to vote and then we need the comm to vote for their favorites.


Perhaps you could make a post and tell the members to leave their suggestion for a comm icon in the comments and when we have enough we can get to the voting. How many options can a poll have?

and well what i was thinking was that to go along with our monthly challenge... we could have an icon challenge that best "defines" what our topic is that month. Like-- for Feb. if we have a "Valentine's" Theme then we'd ask for people (in jan.) to come up with "valentine themed icons," then i'd have a post where people vote for which icon should stay up for the month of february, etc. :D

or if that's too competitive, cuz we don't want some people to think that others don't like their icons-- we could just have ONE BIG ICON CHALLENGE for the year-- ask people to submit their own "Steve/Tony" icons and then vote for which one we should put up first-- we'd then put a new one up every month based on the order that people wanted the icons to be in.

then when we run out of icons, we could issue another challenge (it wouldn't be too cumbersome cuz even if we only get 5 icons-- that's still 5 months down til we issue another icon challenge)

does that make sense?

It's probably not feasible, but I've been reading through a lot of old entries (a few weeks ago I inexplicably developed a craving for this pairing without ever having read a single one of the comics), and so I'll just throw this out here, even though I'm almost a year late to the party.

Beware, here be rambling: I hate, really hate starting to read a fic and then suddenly being faced with the fact that it is apparently a dead WIP. Now, I know there's nothing you can do about that, trudging through old posts and marking WIPs as dead is too much work, and tracking authors who abandoned their WIPs down and forcing them at gun point to finish is probably illegal. And most writers, especially in the newer entries, label their fics as multi-chapters (clearly I approve of the suggested header you link to from the profile page), and finish them. I guess the rush after the movie had people dipping their toes in and then disappearing again.

Anyway. Before I went off on a tangent what I really wanted to suggest was a one-shot/multi-chapter tag. That would help people like me finding short versus long fics, depending what they are in the mood for or have time, and it would really help finding the other parts of a fic when the author doesn't add links to previous posts.

Sorry for rambling, and please bear in mind that I don't really know how the posting habits have developed in the last year; for all I know everybody is tagging and label
ling so busily that any more would be overkill.
