Wiki, big band, and other things

First: With 18 votes to Cap_Ironman's 15, it looks like Tales of Suspense is the wiki title. Anyone then will be free to upload and change things about as it'll be pretty bare bones at first. If we want a pretty wiki, we'll have to make it that way. ^_^

Edit: Tales of Suspense wiki
I'm more than willing to migrate us if someone has a better one.

Second: How many people would be interested in a Steve/Tony or Avengers Big Bang project?
Edit: A Big Bang fest is two-part: There's fic and there's art. Writers submit fics, and artists/vid makers claim them to make art or video to go along with the fics. The first Big Bang Fest was big_bang_hd, and has since spread to other fandoms such as Smallville, Supernatural, House, Heroes, SGA, Doctor Who/Torchwood and others. Big Bangs are normally between 20,000 and 50,000.

Third: This is a bit in advance but how many people are planning to attend Comic Con international and would be interested in a fandom meet up?

This is probably a stupid question... but what's Big Bang?

That sounds really cool...

*raises hand for fandom meet up* I'm new to the fandom but I would love to meet all the wonderful people involved!

oooooo... I like the sound of the Big Bang thing.
Can multiple people pick the same fic or is it first come first serve?

The way supernatural did it was to post anonymously the story summaries in a claim post and then the artists picked the story they would prefer to illustrate for. Not that I'd want to say either way was better but just another option for consideration for you! I know organising a bigbang is a huge job and I wish you luck in marshalling everyone for it :)

no worries, just wanted to make sure you were aware of all the options, since I have no idea what fandoms you are coming from to be here with us! :)

i'd be interested in participating - esp if there's art!

I'd totally come out of lurkerdom to do a Big Bang. It seems like loads of fun.

I might be at Comicon. Not that I participate much online, (read: at all) but I'd love the chance to fangirl in person.

The big bang thing would be loads of fun I think!

Mm... I think I'll give the Big Bang a try. ;)

Ö.Ö Fic & art?
Count me in! XD
Though 10-20 pages sound rather huge ^.^°

I'd totally do a Big Bang. I did the Supernatural one twice, and it was great fun.

I don't know yet if I'll actually be at Comic Con, but I live in San Diego, so making it to a fannish meet-up shouldn't be a problem. :-)

If you're looking for another wiki system, PBWiki is pretty good from my experience. I have my own personal wiki set up there for my original stories (because even I have trouble keeping track of everything XD)

Big Bang. Never heard of it, but it sounds like fun :D

Oh man. I would love to go to Comic Con Int. I've never been >_> I'll have to poke around and figure out if/how I'll go, but a meet up would be amazing.

I've always been sort of on the outside with wikis... I'll definitely be watching, and I'll add what I know about canon once a thread starts (that I know anything about) but here's a question.

I saw a worthy link the other day that might be a great addition

http://tonyfstark.blogspot.com/

and while it's not pure canon, it seems like a good addition (and I think the blogger should be encouraged. :). I just don't know where to put it. It's a wiki, so I don't want to be screwing things up. Halp?

is anyone up for a fandom meet up at the comicon in NYC this coming february? fangirling in person could be niiiiice!

[identity profile] elspethdixon.livejournal.com 2009-01-05 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I think a big bang sounds like an awesome idea (a wiki sounds like a good idea, too, and [livejournal.com profile] seanchai might even be able to host it on Tales of Suspense -- she's checking out the web host and the site coding to see if it would be possible).

On my part, I suspect officially signing up for the big bang might be cheating, though. You know: "Here's this long fic I was already writing anyway. Give me art."

Hmm... Depending on when the challenge kicks off, maybe we'll be done with alien invasion epic of doom by then and can start a new fic for it.
