The Happy New Year Edition of the weekly cap_ironman/cap_ironman newsletter.

Comm news: I'd like to send out a big thank you to everyone who participated in the Santa exchange this year. I'm desperately trying to look at everything before the reveal on January 6th, but there's just so much fantastic fic and art to get through.

What's next for the comm, you may ask? Well, in the next day or so, we're rolling out Bingo Cards. You can sign up any time, and have a whole year to work on your card.

On 5 January, we're opening artist sign ups for our second Reverse Big Bang challenge (that's where artists draw pictures for authors to base their stories on). I'll be sure to post the relevant links when the time comes.

A few bookkeeping details: We've been trying our best to keep everything tagged, but it really helps when everyone pitches in. Anyone who has previously posted a fanwork to the comm should have a user tag in the format of x: username. We're pretty good at making them within a few days of a new user posting, but if you don't have one, just let the mods know and we'll set you up.

Secondly, we have a new(ish) beta list. If you have a bit of time to help out your fellow fen, please consider signing up. It's a very rewarding process, I've found. Plus you get to read the shiny fic before everyone else.

You know it's a quiet week for comics news when I'm going to lead with a story about RDJ getting lifts for Iron Man 3. I guess everyone's too busy doing top ten lists.

Comicbook Movie did a round up of Avengers film rumours. This may contain spoilers, but really, who knows. They also posted the Russian trailer, which has a few new clips, but is mostly worth watching for Samual L. Jackson in Russian..

Not Steve or Tony related, but neat nonetheless: over at Comics Alliance, you can watch Paolo Rivera draw a really skookum Daredevil cover.

I am too. I had so much fun with the reverse Bang Last time. I'm absolutely terrible at completing bingo cards, but I like getting them.

I am super-excited about the bingo cards! I've realized I only write when I have a deadline to meet, so I'm really glad there are structured activities coming up that I can invest in. Plus reverse Big Bang was fabulous last time, so much fun.

I would have said that a couple of years ago, but given the extraordinary number of deadlines I've blown since, I no longer feel it's true of me. However, I also had a great time with the big bang last time around, and if I'm free of commitments by the time author claims open up, I'll certainly sign up (or at least take a pinch hit).

I think Rivera's just fabulous. That link was an incredibly thinly-veiled attempt to pimp Daredevil, which is about my favourite comic right now. I grin every time I think about the Christmas cover. There's a Matt Murdock you wouldn't have seen a year ago!
