Spam and Abuse Concerns

Hello Cap_Ironman,

We hope you are all doing great! We thank you for taking our fic post suggestions to heart!

Additionally we have received a number of PMs with other concerns about the comm and want to thank those members for coming to us with their problems, and we hope you continue to do so! With all of these concerns in mind we just wanted to say something pretty blatantly and clearly that way no one can accuse us of beating around the bush. This isn’t meant to threaten anyone and it’s certainly not meant to scare anyone off, so again ALL OF YOU please PM us if you have any problems. :D Okay, here we go:

With increased concerns on quality control here on the comm, we have implemented a “we highly encourage you to obtain a beta for fic over 500 words” suggestion, as well as the addition of a spot in your headers where you either thank your beta ^__^ or say that you didn’t use one, just so everyone knows what they’re getting themselves into. <3 See the profile page for details. And be sure to visit the beta list if you are looking for a beta.

We have also had continued complaints about abuse and spamming on the comm. Abuse leads to a less then favorable quality of fic and art, and is considered to include extreme and continued OOC development. Spamming leads to other peoples’ work being lost in the woodwork, which is something none of us wants. To rectify the situation we have made “continued spamming and/or abuse” a banable offense. But do not live in fear of whether or not your post was spammy or abusive. If you are in violation of the spam or abuse rule we will PM you with a warning and suggestions to help. If you haven’t gotten a PM, you aren’t doing anything wrong. :D

Just for further clarification on what constitutes ABUSE and what constitutes SPAMMING:

Spamming: pertains to instances in which the poster posts content unrelated to Steve, Tony, or the Avengers, or makes multiple posts of the same subject matter in the same day without trying to compress things into one post. If you have an on-going comic, story, etc. please wait 2 days until posting the next section so nothing gets washed away and people lose track of everyone’s posts. Exceptions are fic or art of higher word count, quality, or separation needed for rating reasons: i.e. “pairing a G rated chibi with unrelated NC-17 sex scenes.”

Abuse: pertains to posts with extreme and noticeable OOC development and little to no attempts at revision for quality. This does not mean we are cracking down on Crack or AU's, but please try to remember if you specialize in these sectors there is a difference between humor and blatant disregard for characterization.

ETA: For clarification's sake, the "please wait two days to post" rule is only for fic or art or comics that has 5 or more parts, and for flashfic/art (i.e. art or fic that was done very quickly with little to no editing for quality or characterization).

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please either PM us, or comment on this post, or HERE.

Much love people!

Panda and Lan
