cap_ironman | Question for a fic I'm thinking of writing...

Sorcerer Supreme is a title, sort of like Police Chief of the magic. It's supposed to be the strongest, most gifted magic user of a dimension. He was ousted the same way that Tony was of DoS position. Tony can still be Iron Man, and Dr. Strange can still do magic. They're just not Director or Supreme anymore.

Hey, question! How do you get your little panel boxes for your comics? I can't seem to make it work...

I use Paint Shop Pro, there are balloons and all kind of shapes.

*does not know what that is* In Photoshop they have a bunch of them, but they're all little cuts, or something...

I have no idea how to use them on Photoshop... Sorry.

Huh. When did Strange get ousted, and who's the new one? (I have a feeling this isn't the first time either.)

Nobody has been announced as new Sorcerer Supreme.

Fans predict New Avengers #46 will be about it.

When Hulk came back from wherever to wreak a mighty vengeance on Stark, Richards, Strange and Black Bolt, Stephen Strange unleashed the demon Dommunumu (?) in order to take down Hulk. Strange couldn't manage the anger, and Hulk actually mangled Strange's hands (he needs his hands for his sort of magic, I think. He does these stylised poses which aids to focus his mystic arts).

Because Strange consorted with the demon, he got demoted from Sorcerer supreme. Bendis hasn't decided who'll be sorcerer supreme as yet. But since Doom is a pretty powerful practitioner of magic himself (and since Marvel is going that way), I think it might be Doom, tying into the Dark Reign title that they have going there.

Oooh Hey I have that What If issue where Doom was sorceror supreme it was awesome... so they are canonizing it? For some screwed up reason that appeals to me.

Added - Lolz and such for the handposes since my mind went straight to doc strange making sailor moon-esque hand flail/poses and crying that the magic was gone from his hands.

The thing that goes against Doom being in Sorcerer supreme is that he's already in The Cabal , which is the anti- Illuminati. If he's SS, he won't be afraid of Obsorn's 'friend', the one who's behind the door (Sentry?), so that not work for the flow of the story per se. So, as much as it wouldn't surprise me if it were Doom as SS, it wouldn't surprise me if it weren't.

Also, Bendis seems to like the random, little known characters, so if it were someone like Wong or Cleo, I'd LOL, but I wouldn't be surprised.

It wasn't Dormammu, it was ZOM.

And Hulk crashed his hands before he used ZOM's power. That's why Doc did it.

I only read the trade once (and literally LOL'd through it). I remember it was a demon that Strange said he could barely control.

All I remember is that Tony was fighting mostly naked.

I felt bad for Stark when he was giving the Sentry that speech, about sometimes, you have to make choices for billions of people, and how not making a choice was a choice. I thought that part was really moving - the rest of the book just seemed like a big, summer blockbuster movie, what with multiple splash pages and so on. I remembered enjoying the trade on some level, not not enough to own it.

So weaker then before. He was a Sorcerer Supreme of earth-616

but now... He's just a good magician with lots of knowledge.

Because Hulk busted his hands and they are still cracked a lot and useless.

Doc does his magic mainly by hands and words. And, broken hands always been Doc't main theme.

Frankly, Doc was really way too mighty, he can beat cosmic entities you know.

Thogh I loved it that way.....

Hoodlum? Really? I doubt if he even knows how to pronounce the word much less know the arcane arts of SS.

By the end of this year, I'll be reduced to reading nothing but the Marvel Adventures and the Marvel Superheroes line.

So I'm hoping that there's a scrum, and this doesn't come to pass. But Bendis gets his rocks off by launching randoms into the spotlight and depowering or putting away long established characters, so I don't know.
