Man, I had a stroke of genius!

And since capiron_bigbang is closing the sing-ups tomorrow, I thought I'd share this plotbunny in case somebody wants to write 20,000+ words out of it!

So, I was thinking, with everything that's been going on in Invincible Iron Man... what if MA: Avengers was a sort of delusion!verse of 616? Like some sort of Tony's happy place? Or maybe even Steve's...

Yeah, skyearth85 wondered why no one was writing anything about the What If: Civil War, where they are married and drinking tea. I guess it's because it's so perfect that fandom has nothing to add, except maybe porn (by the way, if anyone feels like writing it, I'll totally support them!)! :D I mean, what's better than tea and being married for these two?

My love for it would have been so, so, so much more if only they had decided that the responsibility fell on Steve's shoulders. Tony might have done some bad shit, but he'd always tried to talk to Steve, time and time again. But I guess in the Marvel Universe, being Captain America means you're always right, even when you're being wrong and kind of a dick.

I excuse Steve from (nearly) all blame and place it squarely on Mark Millar's shoulders - he seems to be incapable of writing real Steve, and just wrote Ultimates!Cap throughout Civil War. Hence Steve acting like a dick (my Watsonian fanwank is that Steve was so hurt by Tony's perceived betrayal - "Sam! He's going to the prom with Maria Hill instead of with me!!! Woe!" - that he's essentially acting out of hurt and anger the whole time).
