*poke* Hey all. I need a little help with my big bang fic. See, in the fic, to make a long story short, Tony is receiving only books for his birthday. However, I've found that I do not actually read a wide enough selection of books to really give him anything other than sci-fi stuff. So, I'd like everyone's opinion on what the following characters might give him as reading material:

Peter
Henry Helrung
Maria Hill
Clint
Hank Pym
Carol
Jarvis
Beth Cabe

Thanks all <3

I don't know all the characters well enough to speak for them, but here's a few:

Peter: Surely you're joking, Mr. Feinman (http://www.amazon.com/Surely-Feynman-Adventures-Curious-Character/dp/0393316041/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236278164&sr=1-1) by Richard P. Feinman

Hank: Ants at work: How an insect society is organized (http://www.amazon.com/Ants-Work-Insect-Society-Organized/dp/0393321320/ref=sr_11_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1236278420&sr=11-1) by Deborah Gordon

It's kind of sad, how quickly I came up with some of these titles. I've been spending way too much time imagining the inner lives of comic book characters.

Always happy to help. :-)

Jarvis knows it's hopeless, but he just keeps trying...

Henry Hellrung

I know that Henry is always on Tony to get to meetings. He's Tony's sponsor, so he's like, that. His books would be like along the lines of AA. He'd also get Tony a soberversary pin, if appropriate.

Back To Basics - The Alcoholics Anonymous Beginners Meetings "Here are the steps we took..." in Four One Hour Sessions (Paperback)

Ah

Well, let him send a book about California, then. Since he and Stark tore a hole in California's partying scene.

LOL. This is an excellent idea. Sadly, the only thing that came to mind was that Peter would give him a book about tying elaborate knots.

Which doesn't make any sense. XD

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Tony would probably take that as a hint.

Clint: How To books, Trashy romance novels

Jarvis: Classics, deep fantasy (LOTR, Dune, Authur stuff, things along those lines)

Peter: Nerdery. "Super Hero Worst Case Scenario" (something like that)

Carol: Something along aircraft designs. (i still love the scene of them bonding over tony's plane and "captain danvers")

Hank: Biology (biology is SO MUCH BETTER than machines, dammit! ....or so i imagine them arguing)

I am ted, can we see this? Yeah, I'm gonna shut up and slink off to amuse myself with Smallville
