Bunny Hutch!
Post any ideas or concepts that you’ve been dying to read, or want to write but just can’t seem to find the time! This will be posted on the side bar, so don’t worry, it won’t be difficult to find. And don’t think this means that you can’t just post random ideas that pop into your head onto the comm anytime you want. This post is just so you can post it HERE too, and then anyone who needs some extra inspiration can come to this post for lots of ideas all in one place.
yes, it's young Tony Stark
For instance, in Ultimates, Tony Stark says that he made his first million and did something for his mother (I'm at work, so I cannot remember for the life of me what he did). But in Ult Iron Man, Maria Stark died at childbirth. The closet thing to his 'mother' would have been that Chinese scientist, who was the assistant to Howard Stark in Scott Card's visioning.
So, while Orson Scott Card is doing his thing, his vision to the character came much later, after Millar got the Ultimates verse up and running.
I tend to borrow certain things from Orson Scott Card's run and ignore others. So, Tony's warm but exasperating relatinoship with his dad? Check. Tony's strange body? Until I see Millar or Loeb reference that, I'm going to take a pass, especially since the Ultimates verse is supposed to be non cracky (brb, dying from the LOL).
Right, back to gallery work. What.

Yeah, but in Ult Iron Man his mum died in childbirth!
Re: Yeah, but in Ult Iron Man his mum died in childbirth!
Actually
I loved that bitchy old man.
Re: Actually
So we're saying there's a certain amount of canonical evidence for the hypothesis that Tony dressed up in his dead mother's clothes and murdered people?
Oh comics.
Re: Actually
I thought that the purple robe thing that he wore was his dead mothers.... thats what i gathered form that line anyway.. oh i loved jarvis
Re: Yeah, but in Ult Iron Man his mum died in childbirth!
No, Howard Stark didn't
But from what I gather, Ultimate Iron Man and Ultimates ironman are different canon. So...
Re: No, Howard Stark didn't
Yes i think i'll go with the thing about them being different canon, but then, that again raises the questions "Which canon do we follow?"
Hmmm, I tend to pick and choose
Tony's regenerating limbs? Until Millar and Loeb or any other Ultimates verse writer makes it canon, I'm ignoring.
I'm torn between Tony drinking due to pain management (re Orson Scott Card) or Tony just drinking because he's depressed and self indulgent (Millar). I go with the latter though, it's more plausible.
So, I just side with the more plausible canon and it's more on the side of Millar than Orson Scot Card. It also doesn't help that Orson Scot Card's Ultimate Iron Man tends to be just like, two trades, with six issues each. It's more like a mini series than an actual comic.
So... go with Millar or Loeb.
