Extremis. What happened to it as of Secret Invasion? I know that Tony can't really use it anymore but is it still there? Is it disabled? Is it gone completely?

Also particulars on the Skrull Virus that I believe disabled/destroyed Extremis would be helpful!

I'm trying to figure out if this fiction idea is even plausible and I don't have any of the comics on hand to research it.

The Extremis was damaged by the virus. It gave Tony a flu-like disease, though after the invasion was stopped, the symptoms seemed to have gotten better.

From what I can tell, at the beginning of World's Most Wanted, Tony can still use the Extremis, though not very well. It could just be that he couldn't use his armor well because he didn't have the Extremis.

At the moment, Tony's started a deletion process that will get rid of the Extremis...and cause brain death. It's an on-going plot line, so it's hard to tell you much more than that.

But, directly after the invasion, the Extremis is virtually useless, though still there.

Mm... As long as it's there in some form, I suppose I can use it in this plot then, thanks! Especially since I planned it before said brain death (god, can't believe I forgot about that).

About the brain death, I think he says he activates it when hooked up to repulsore tech. So it's not an ongoing process so much as a kill switch I think. So he needs to be near/with if he needs to actually use it.

I thought he set up the kill switch, and now he can use it any time he wants. I a little irritated by how much of a tease that was.

Now there can *~*drama*~* for when he needs to get to his repulsors for brain deletion, but woe they are out of reach/destroyed! How will he kill himself now?

Mm... Interesting, which also adds a bit more into this plot idea that I have. Same end result, different explanation.

He's got it still in the sense that all the modifications to his physiology are still there. The Skrull virus just fried his tech (which Extremis isn't), so he can't interface with the Extremis armor for beans.

edit: it's not really clear whether he can interface with all tech still or not, but his interfaces with StarkTech were totally zapped.
