Two icons...

...with bonus Kirk/Spock!

I basically devoured the archives over the past couple of weeks in between business travel and have been loving it! The Cap/IM icons came from a conversation I had (drunk) in a bar with a couple of fanboys. We were very intensely discussing comics and the Avengers and is there hope in the universe without Steve Rogers and, let me tell you, my friends, if you ever want to hear grown men shriek, slip in a slashy comment like, "I know his boyfriend Ironman is pretty broken up about it."

Round of drinks for the post-conference group? $60

"Captain America is NOT GAY" shrieked by 40 year old men in a bar in San Francisco? Priceless!

Your current Icon is making me giggle like nobodies business. Is it from VG cats?

Haha, awesome!

1) two of my friends have game characters named Captamerica and Tonystark, and so far I have been very, very good and haven't said anything about their big gay love.

2) is there anything that Firefly does not make better? Awesome icons.

Love the "Big Gay Heroes" :)
Snagged the K/S, it sums up just about exactly my attitude towards the new Star Trek film.

Making grown men unconciously channel little girls is the best unofficial sport in the universe! But be warned if your near a con function, they travel in large packs and tend to stampeed when startled by such "blasphemy". *pokes bruise on her arm* You would think after hearing it form every other fan girl on the planet they wouldn't wig out over it so badly but denile isn't just a river in Egypt!
I'm snagging the one frame Big Gay Heroes one fyi! I am sadly lacking in Avengers icons...

I've heard thoughts that the term "slash" even came from Kirk/Spock (KirkslashSpock) early fanfiction and fanzines. Which is like total awesomeness <3 THANK YOU TREKKIES!

[identity profile] pandanoai.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
right! exactly.

It is commonly believed that current day slash fanfiction originated within the Star Trek: The Original Series fan fiction fandom, with "Kirk/Spock" stories – generally authored by female fans of the series – first appearing in the late 1970s. -- Wikipedia says it, so it must be true. :P LOL

Oooo! I'm taking the big gay heroes jpeg if you don't mind. Absolutely lovely. And apparently fanboys around the world have never heard of the concept of bisexuality. Clearly they need to be educated on this concept via the comics medium.

Ha, so true! Sweveral years back I tried to explain slash to a male coworker/comics fan and I got as far as "...Kirk and Spock," and he started shrieking. Literally. He shrieked, "NOOOOOOOOooooOOOOO! Stop, stop, stop!" and that was the end of the conversation.

Heh, it still makes me cackle.

I snagged 001, will credit! Thanks.

I was attempting to convince a a friend that theres plenty of evidence that cap and tony are a cute couple and so perfect together andsecretly gay with each other, and he basicly found some reason to make anything i showed him, boring and very het.... until i showed him a certain scan from FF: Dark Reign #2 after that there was silence and i said ":: Gregg has no comment::" to which he replied "I...am dealing." It was pretty damn great XD
