Aerodynamics and the Power of Red Stripes

Yeah, I was bored and in need of banter. And the image was too adorable not to describe. For the Spring fun challenge.

Rating: G. G-est of G.
Word count: 199. Hah!
Summary: Of course, Tony would make the most elaborate paper airplanes possible, while Steve would stick with the classic triangle.

Tony’s airplane was a masterpiece of paper engineering, a schematic in folds and careful tears. (Steve had declared that use of scissors and tape were cheating, as was using more than one piece of paper; Tony had vanished briefly and returned with double-sized sheets of design paper for both of them.) Steve’s, on the other hand, was sleek and classic (in his words) or hopelessly simplistic and uncreative (in Tony’s). He had finished well in advance and was doodling idly on the wings.

“Your plane has red stripes on it,” Tony observed.

“Everyone knows striped and red vehicles go faster,” Steve replied.

Tony chuckled. “We’ll see about that.”

They launched from opposite ends of the room. Steve visualized the pointy noise of his paper airplane bouncing off Tony’s forehead and threw it. Tony, the smirk on his face suggesting a similar visual, did likewise.

In the exact center of the room, the two planes crashed into each other and tumbled to the floor.

Steve and Tony shared a look. Steve grinned. “Of course you realize, this means war.”

“I knew Bugs Bunny would be a bad influence on you,” sighed Tony melodramatically as he went to get more paper.
