Aerodynamics and the Power of Red Stripes
Yeah, I was bored and in need of banter. And the image was too adorable not to describe. For the Spring fun challenge.
Rating: G. G-est of G.
Word count: 199. Hah!
Summary: Of course, Tony would make the most elaborate paper airplanes possible, while Steve would stick with the classic triangle.
Tony’s airplane was a masterpiece of paper engineering, a schematic in folds and careful tears. (Steve had declared that use of scissors and tape were cheating, as was using more than one piece of paper; Tony had vanished briefly and returned with double-sized sheets of design paper for both of them.) Steve’s, on the other hand, was sleek and classic (in his words) or hopelessly simplistic and uncreative (in Tony’s). He had finished well in advance and was doodling idly on the wings.
“Your plane has red stripes on it,” Tony observed.
“Everyone knows striped and red vehicles go faster,” Steve replied.
Tony chuckled. “We’ll see about that.”
They launched from opposite ends of the room. Steve visualized the pointy noise of his paper airplane bouncing off Tony’s forehead and threw it. Tony, the smirk on his face suggesting a similar visual, did likewise.
In the exact center of the room, the two planes crashed into each other and tumbled to the floor.
Steve and Tony shared a look. Steve grinned. “Of course you realize, this means war.”
“I knew Bugs Bunny would be a bad influence on you,” sighed Tony melodramatically as he went to get more paper.

This was followed by Steve making Tony watch Marx Brothers movies I'm guess. ^_^

This put the biggest grin on my face. ^_^ *grin* Thank you so much, because this totally made my day. *basks in warm fuzzies*
Steve would insist that red stripes made things faster. XD And Tony is so the perfectly crazy-engineering-perfectionist-paper airplane of doom type of guy.

Sorry. Couldn't resist, especially with Steve's insistance that red makes the vehicle go faster.
That was hopelessly, hopelessly adorable and the perfect thing to wake up to on a Wednesday.

I'm really tempted to draw Steve with his sleek and classic triangle-plane. It's a very compelling image. Would you mind if I did?

I agree about Cygna's writing, though. Very fun. :D

This is excellent. And so in tune, I can see this fitting right into MA: Avengers.

They're so cute and fun together!

*grins* Of course he did ^_^. I love that even Tony's paper airplanes have to be over-engineered and efficient and perfect, down to cheating by using larger sheets of paper (I know some aero engineers and they actually do this), and that Steve is artistically coloring his in.

Fun little snippet, thanks!
