inspiration: ww2 picture

I came across this WWII picture today, and it just *cries out* to be a story inspiration for a story challenge.

I think it's almost better without the story behind it, because it's a mystery, but if you want some background, here's a link.

I think it's one of those 'good in moderation' thing, as in, let there not be more prompts when there are prompts piling up unanswered.

I think it'll be hilarious if, Steve discovers that nude photo of his from way back, in Tony's possession. Like, Steve loses a bet and has to clean the jet while naked, Bucky or Toro snaps a picture and hides it. Young Tony Stark learns about Captain America in class, decides to do his essay on him, shifts through the WWII stuff his family has access to, and the photo curved between one of the Invader's pair of binoculars and leather wrap. Or maybe it was hidden one of those old metal cigarette cases. I'm thinking somewhere discrete, in something that won't be discarded.

I like that! And Tony has wanted for *years* to know the story behind it, but of course everyone involved was dead and he didn't want to just flash it around and see if any random vet knew the story. And then Steve's back, but it's not really the sort of thing you just pull out and ask someone about, you have to wait for the right *moment*.

I actually have an Ultimates fic where Gail actually gives Tony racy pictures of young Steve.

The explanation was that she didn't want anyone to sell 'em off to a tabloid or anything and figured Tony would keep them as safe as she had *L*

Never quite got it to work out though.
