As you can see, this is for the rooftop scene where Tony turned Steve's sketch into a hologram projection. Romance, right there, nice move by Stark. Hopefully I conveyed the atmosphere. Although I have to say, I'm bad at drawing architecture...

Details on HUDs from movie
May. 24th, 2012 09:14 pmsalmastryon.livejournal.comMy brother came across this on Reddit and linked it to me knowing how much of an Iron Man fan I am as well how much of a geek I am for Technology. One of the people who worked on the Iron Man HUDs posted stills of it as well as close ups of what it would look like from Tony's viewpoint and some breakdowns on what it all means. I want the DVD to come out now so I can pause and see if I can catch some of the changes.
Here's a picture of one of the Stills from Tony's viewpoint.
The detailed blow ups of the display are too large to link her and I'm too lazy to shrink em right now. I love the amount of detail and thought put in it all and wow can Tony Multi-task with that much info for him to parse.

You'll have to scroll past the heli-carrier consoles to see the Iron Man HUDs. At the very bottom the person who posted up the page wrote:
"This is just an image dump of marvel approved stills and screenshots of my work on the film. I'll do a proper post soon - this is a fraction of the work - But I had the distinct pleasure of working with Cantina Creative, leading the design of the glass screens for the Helicarier in the Avengers. I also led the design and animation of the all new and upgraded Mark VII Hud.
All work was done in Illustrator, After Effects and Cinema 4d.
Included are some partial explanations of how the HUD diagnostic functions
Variations of it in 'all clear' mode, and a 'battle mode', after the suit has suffered damage and new windows have popped up to show depleted weapon stores and hazardous environmentals and general.
The flight menu was designed with input from an A-10 Fighter Pilot. I like to keep my stuff accurate.
I start all designs on paper so I included some ideas for the dock icons. In the final icons, the more detailed versions show system status based on the way they animate.

I'm looking for a pic of a young Tony Stark with Dummy (the robotic arm). I came across it on Tumblr, but I failed to save it, and it won't leave me alone.
The picture is kinda like a news-clipping of when Tony first built Dummy (there was an article underneath). The pic is black-and-white (I think) and in it Tony is crouching next to Dummy. I think the article called it an 'award-winning robot' (possibly).
Please help me.

There's a short section where they interviewed Chris Evans that's relevant to our interests. He professes his admiration and high regard towards Robert Downey Jr.'s acting prowess and delight to be working alongside him. To quote his exact words: "I grew up on Robert Downey Jr. The guy can do no wrong. He's one of the most talented actors on the planet. He just has this magnetic presence."
Another interesting factoid from the article is how Evans was reluctant at first to sign on for the role of Captain America "Initially, I was being asked to sign on for nine movies. It was later pushed down to six movies but that is still an enormous chunk of your life taken out to play one character.'' Still - 6 movies! Many more to look forward to!

I've been slowly picking up ... graphic novels? Nicely bound comics? as the mood strikes, but they've been all over the place story-wise. I mostly pick ones where the art really grabs me, and then my poor brain has to figure out wtf universe it's written in, why people are different/the same/ love each other/hate each other, etc.
I'd love to see some iconic moments. Especially ones where I might not be able to find them on my own.

I was watching the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships over the weekend, and couldn't stop thinking that the USA goalie had Cap's A on the front of his mask! So, I went looking for pictures, and lo and behold - I was right!

A Little Song and A Panel
Jun. 18th, 2011 09:45 pmfictivore.livejournal.comSo, I just came across this amazing band called Kirby Krackle which does, what they call 'nerd rock', based mostly on comic book characters. They have a song called "Tony Stark" about Tony in the aftermath of Civil War and I just had to share with the comm. The first paragraph is pure gold and very clearly talks about Steve. :D
