So I comments here. :D

D: Oh. Oh Tony. (fistmouth) Oh Steve. I love what you did with Ult!Steve here, and where you left him at. Seeing 616 really opened his eyes, didn't it? He needed (needs) that—blind faith is only acceptable for those who can choose being lead over leading. That's not really an option for him.

And Tony homg. D: He's so hurt and trying not to be. You really laid it all bare. This sort of makes me glad I'm avoiding actually reading current-616 like the plague because if this hurts... D:

"You were sober."
"On purpose?" Tony visibly blanched. "Bad form, old boy, bad form."

Of all the awesome lines, this one really stood out for me. I just love the idea of Ult!Tony and 616!Tony and the massive differences between them.

All and all, I just love seeing the differences between the two worlds through Steve's eyes. Pepper and Jarvis were amazing little snapshots, and that little pause with James/Bucky said so much. You really did an excellent job with this prompt. Bravo!

LJ really needs to see about allowing for longer posts for us. (HINT HINT LJ?) Not that they will; I have a feeling that the owners seem to get all headscratchy at the idea of LJ being a place for fandom and writer types. The staff seem to get it though.

I may have to hang my head and just start buying Ults online and pay the shipping. No one seems to have it around here! And I hear awesome (or at least o.O-making, which is close enough to awesome) things are coming.

It was more than worth the click-through. You got me through server maintainence, which is usually several hours of boredom.

Nine days oh dear, you deserve the break! You're lucky you didn't hurt your clicky-mouse finger. (pets)

So I read this a few days ago and am just now getting around to commenting on it. Good Lord, this broke my heart. In a good way, mind, but still.

Not having read Ults, I can't say whether your characterization of Ult!Steve is spot on, but I can say that I like it. He's brusque without being a dick all the time. I think 616 could have used more people like that...maybe things wouldn't have gone down the toilet the way they did if people would just talk, for crying out loud.

And the bit after Tony makes the awkward pass at Steve with his nose bleeding. Tony asking if Steve draws is just such a loaded question. And I like how you had the two of them handle that situation. Bravo.

I can see I'm going to have to break down and actually get my hands on Ults. *sigh*
