It's been a while since I've looked at a preview and said, 'wow, that's ugly and confusing.'
Wow, that's ugly and confusing. Is that an arc reactor hovering in mid-air, or is it supposed to be attached to the lumpy gauntlet just behind it? And is Steve wearing lipstick?
I thought that about the lipstick... I think he's wearing eyeliner too. That and the popped collar leather jacket make him look like he's in the video for an Eighties power ballad.
I thought the blue glow on the gautlet was repulsor related, though. But it's on the back of the hand? Odd.
*_* The way it looks to me, Cap comes back, and decides he needs Tony's help as Iron Man, even if he doesn't remember, and somehow brings one of his old suits to him (this assuming it's Tony holding the briefcase). The art... is not really to my taste, but who knows what it looks like on the inside?
I know that he's mostly done the art for X-men (for the past couple of years I think). More than likely, Larroca will be doing the pencils for the IM books.

Why does Marvel like the taste of our tears so much?
I was really hoping that the end of this year would see an artist changeover on Iron Man. I miss the days of Granov and Zircher, when the title was so pretty (and at least the guy who did most of Director of Shield did a very nice job on the armor and the supporting characters, even if his Tony did wander off-model a distressing amount of the time).
What really frustrates me about Larroca is that he used to be much better than his current output. The difference between his art on X-Treme X-Men and Ultimate Daredevil & Elektra and his art on IIM is painful. And that wasn't even very long ago! I was reading Larroca!art X-men issues in 2005/2006 that were definately still decent-looking.
The logistics of that suitcase just do not work out. Ugh you know what, I've facepalm'd enough already over at S_D the first time I saw it. Just gonna breathe through it this time.

And oh Steve, I don't know if it's the shadowing or not, but you look confused.

Heh, if it had been Larroca, it would be worse
Ugh.
I still think it's too soon to have Steve back though.

Sometimes I wonder... Maybe all the other artists are working on other projects? And I suppose all comic artists need a chance, right? Right...?
