Soooo . . New Steve outfit?

My first though is . . . OMG Ultimate!Steve has attacked and replaced 616 Steve.
I don't know about anyone else, but my canon is that Steve went to Bucky and asked Bucky for some rejected design that Bucky didn't use because he didn't have time to come up for something for himself. So Bucky gave him this one. Steve then asked why Bucky didn't use itbecause it look far less goofy and Bucky said he felt obligated to have wings on his head. But then in all seriousness, with the uncovered head and the general look, he'd passed on it because he felt the costume looked more like and updating of his Bucky uniform then it did of Cap's uniform.
Five hours later what Bucky said finally sinks in and Steve goes HEY! Wait a second, and runs after Bucky.
Anyway
It's not that I dislike the outfit. I actually think i'ts spiffy. It's just not a 616 Steve Rogers look in my mind. It's a Bucky Barnes or Ultimate Steve Rogers look.
On the other hand, relevant to this community, I think Tony would adore this. *L*

Tell that to the people complaining it doesn't look "brilliant", "iconic" or "superhero-y" enough. This does not read as "Bucky" to me, and I don't understand where the fuck you people are getting that, other than the fact that oh, noes, it's too serious an outfit for a lofty character such as Cap. This reads as "ops" mixed with design. Which people seem to be forgetting that for all his wonderful speeches and propaganda posters, the supersoldier program, and by default Steve, is based entirely in that. Why can't he dress the part for a change without people assuming there's going to be a personality rewrite with it?
And yes, normally, Cap doesn't carry a gun, because before, he had the shield to rely on. But fuck, for all we know, it has stun bullets or is a sonic weapon, or shoots nets or whatever the fuck non-lethal ammo he'd choose. Maybe it even shoots little tiny shield replicas. This is a world where time machines are normal and DNA can be re-written with a blink, and where supposedly-dead ex-wives exist as new dimensions. The first Secret Avengers mission is going to involve remnants of Hydra bases on fucking Mars, for Christ's sake. Until they actually have him put a real live lead bullet in someone, use some damn imagination, people.
