 Hello all Inoshi here delurking for a bit because I wanted to share my personal tale of fan-artery and just basic overall practice for the upcoming reverse bang.  Some come forth and enjoy!  Or skip to the art, whatever you prefer XD

My first attempt at drawing Steve and Tony.  Now I should explain, I am the type of artist who enjoys reflecting the original art style in their fanart, however this being the comic book world (and culture shock for an anime nerd like myself) how shocked was I when there are so many styles and artist to choose from.  So going by the default, I tried my hand at my own style.......ah how anime-ish [scratches head]...and hard to believe I was trying to steer away from that too.

Anyways, I was playing around with expressions and Tony had this...look...and I decided at last minute to color the sketch and make it into a mini comic.

Between you and me I wasn't sure if Steve's look really is of "<3" or "..." XD lol But I bet he loves Tony anyways

So, take two on my Steve/Tony Quest and lo-and-behold I was inspired by the Junjou Romantica anime Opening.  Just another quick sketch which I just colored.  Pah, who needs clean line art?  I originally had intentions of recreating the animation with Steve and Tony, but somehow they ended up without clothes....[head desk].  At first I ended up drawing Tony too small after realizing that hey, Tony is roughly the same size as Steve.  I was thiiiiiis close to turning Tony into "Toni" but I decided to readjust...and they came out like that [stares].  

Yeah, they are REALLY, really close almost as if they are actually....
[slaps inner thought]
Can Tony even bend that way?

At last we come to the end of my journey of trying to draw Steve and Tony.  Honestly I was just angsting cause canon can make me sad and I got fed up and just wanted them to kiss and be happy.  I also said !@#$%^ because of trying to find references of current canon Steve and Tony and screaming because of inconsistency of hair style...damn it Marvel - long - short...PICK ONE!  I looked up a photo ref for just a really good kiss since I want Tony happy <3  and then suddenly I realized I got cross-hatching happy.  So thanks to Life Drawing classes I went hello toned paper look and there we go :)

I really like this somehow...yatta!

I fixed the embedded images so you'll be able to see them now, but for the life of me I have no freaking clue why the second and third link won't work. I even looked at the straight up html coding and don't see any errors. If all else fails for whatever reason you can access the other two pictures via the first link and browse through the rest of my gallery (it's not big at all). LOL, maybe Tony and Steve don't want you to see them naked. XD

I uploaded the images through photobucket so that should take care of any problems. Funny thing is that I wasn't even shown the error through my browser (google chrome) but when I checked through firefox BAM it was blocked. I've noticed that Chrome bypasses a lot of browsing blockers and hazzards that firefox and explorer encounter. But thanks for the notice [smacks browser] I still have no idea what the heck is wring with the other two links [fiddles with it some more]....ahahah Tony I am not....I guess that's why I have more in common with Steve then smexy-Stark

I like your style a lot. The last drawing with the toned paper, especially, is very beautiful! Waugh I want them to be happy too, the canon has a way of tearing you apart yknow ?? XD haha.

Seriously though, I love that white highlighting look on the brown- bit of a "thing" for me, admittedly. Heh. ♥ and for what it's worth, I adore the hairstyle you chose for him.

Ah sorry for the late reply ^_^ But thank you for the feedback! I love the toned paper look....and it's not something I see too much of in fanart. I was actually surprised at how many people like it as well, so I'm actually considering on doing more of it. However, finding descent references is hard...at least online. But I was fortunate enough to get an artist referral (Paul Cadmus) who apparently did beautiful work. Ahhah...sorry for rambling.

As for cannon...I think what irked me was the first issue of Avengers Heroic Age. It's when Steve is assembling the different branches of the Avengers and pretty much Tony is like D8 "But Steve I can't!" blah blah "...see all the mistakes." Yada...which is oddly enough on the slashy moments list. But no...that wasn't my problem...it was when Tony was asking who was leading the team if it wasn't Steve.

Steve (and I honestly thing I am one of the only few who does actually question the "Cap can do no wrong" motive) actually laughs at Tony when Tony thought he was the best person to lead the team, and I quote "...no. HA. No." Okay, I get it, he and Tony have major issues. Still...I just thought it was a little snarky. Geez Steve, it's not like Tony actual lead the Avengers before and help found them...twice...oh well. /rant

And you're very welcome. I've seen the toned paper look around; it's not a really uncommon thing, I think, but it'd definitely not very widely used - it's always nice to see it implemented tastefully.
