OT: Dreamwidth invite codes

[personal profile] dorothy1901 2010-09-05 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, mods.

On the one hand, this is terribly, completely off-topic. On the other hand, it might be of interest to the members of the community.

With the recent shenanigans on LiveJournal regarding ping-backs, cross-posting and privacy breaches, some fans are considering migrating to Dreamwidth. Dreamwidth is still in beta, but it's largely functional, and offers some improvements over LiveJournal (for example: higher character limits on posts). For those who are interested in creating a Dreamwidth account, free invite codes can be snagged at http://dw-codesharing.dreamwidth.org. Maybe this information could be added to the next community newsletter? Or maybe not; it is, I admit, completely off-topic.
