Summary: Steve Rogers has lost his leg in battle, and is expelled from The Ultimates. Frustrated and unable to fight on the front lines, but refusing to accept his injury, Steve goes to Tony and asks for a favour. You can't always get what you want, but sometimes, you get what you need.

Author's notes: Ablelist language (self directed, but still), simplified science on genetics and gene splicing. This story diverts after Ultimate Avengers: Volume 1, in that Gregory Stark is a presence in the story, but there are no vampires, there's no Luke Cage, and the other Ultimates are mentioned in passing, if at all.
