After defeating Norman Osborn in the battle for Asgard, Tony falls into a coma and later becomes brain-dead. Determined to hang on, Steve stays by his side while Reed Richards, curious about how the civil war might've played out in other worlds, accidently becomes trapped in one where Tony is living in the body of Natasha Stark, a wife and mother. After they fail to stop an alien invasion that destroys Earth-3490, Reed brings Tony home only for Natasha to wake up in Tony's body instead. Feeling guilty for being unable to save her world, Natasha must deal with the mess Tony's life has become all while preparing for the invasion she and Reed know is coming. Steve can't stop dreaming about a life he's never known and can't keep from feeling conflicted about Tony/Natasha.
