United States President Steve Rogers is a Medal of Honor recipient. Billionaire lobbyist Tony Stark once sold arms to the Taliban (it wasn’t on purpose, Pepper!). It’s a match made… in the Oval Office?

President Steve Rogers can’t stand billionaire lobbyist Tony Stark. Bad press between them requires them to work together and pretend to be friends. They slowly realize that they have a lot in common, and end up in a secret relationship, which, of course, gets out.

"You have the whole world in front of you, Tony," Steve says, slowly. "When you get off this boat, there's nothing to stop you from living the life you want. If that's as a mechanic with a nice Alpha--you can have that. Just because what you grew up with is trash, doesn't mean that all alphas are. You can still have exactly what you want."

Tony laughs, and it feels brittle, sharp, cutting at his throat as it spills between them. "There aren't nice Alphas, Captain. No one is nice enough to walk away from a billion dollar fortune for someone like me."

"I would," Steve says, and it feels like a confession, like something he doesn't mean to share, and all the more precious for it.

Steve has worked in the field of preserving supernatural wildlife for as long as he can remember. He split from SHIELD years ago, but when Fury approaches him with a rescue mission that goes beyond anything they've ever done before, Steve knows that he can't turn a blind eye to it. Those animals need his help, and if he has to go undercover again to save them, then he'll do it gladly.

He never expects to find what he does, a half-man, half-tiger who seems to understand him and yet pretend to be an animal. Steve knows that even more than any of the other animals in this illegal zoo, this man was never meant to belong in a cage. There's a fire in his eyes that tugs at Steve's heartstrings and makes him want to help in any way he can.

No matter what, Steve knows that he won't rest until this man is free.

Sometimes superheroes save the world. And sometimes they're too late.

Captain America's longtime villain Superia had a plan for revenge. She stopped the Avengers from ever finding Steve in the ice, tore the Avengers apart, and turned the world into her own personal authoritarian dystopia. A team made up of Captains America from across the multiverse came to set things right: they united all the remaining superheroes, took down Superia, and made sure the world would find Steve again.

Tony spent Superia's hellish reign as her prisoner, a suicidally-depressed disembodied brain trapped in a jar for years on end, begging the Avengers to kill him and put him out of his misery. The Captain America Corps instead gives him his freedom, a brand-new body, and even the Avengers -- including his very own Captain America. But Tony's not entirely sure he wants to be here. He's walking wounded, and he thinks some wounds are too deep to heal. He thinks there's no chance the Avengers will ever be what they could have been. He thinks there's no way Steve will ever be the friend and partner he could have been on so many other worlds.

Luckily for Tony, Steve happens to disagree with that.

hdm!au. steve isn't sure what to make of his new, daemonless teammate iron man. he's even less sure what to do with tony stark and his strange, albino daemon. tony, on the other, is just trying to make sure his secret identity stays secret. it'd really help if steve stopped confessing his feelings for tony stark to iron man.

After a certain super soldier is caught on cell phone cams in Times Square, Tony does a little digging. He has no idea just how deep the SHIELD rabbit hole is going to go, and now what's he supposed to do when he finds a time-traveling Capsicle on his hands?

Steve bites his tongue. He's Sarah's boy, not anyone else's, but arguing that fact here and now is liable to get his ass beat. So he holds his tongue and meets the owner's eyes directly.
"Got the emperor interested, in fact."
Steve never expected to amount to much more than a quiet support to his mother. When the debilitating debt from her sickness and death landed him in Thaddeus Ross's "care," those expectations were dashed. He never expected the emperor to come along and shatter those expectations one more time.
