(Yay for life sciences! Yay for anything that you're good at and take pride in, really!)

1) This is a tangent, but I totally had this same reaction to Disney's Hercules. Not for the title character, but for Hades who, at the time, was my favorite Greek god and I was sad that he was painted as the villain YET AGAIN. But, actually, Disney!Hades was awesome! So it was all good.

2) I'm glad! I was a little worried about this myself, actually. I'm American, but I didn't really want that to be what the movie was about. The advertising tag line, "Heroes are made in America" made me wince, but fortunately they didn't really go there.

HUGO WEAVING! I've been watching behind the scenes The Hobbit things, so he's back as Elron, but some part of me always expects him to go evil. I thought he did well! A little two-dimensional, but, like you said, it made it easier to focus on Cap. Not every bad guy has to have sweeping depth. That's my thought, anyway.
