i would love to know. i'm kind of new in this fandom (well.. i think i'm kind of new in this couple addiction ! =D)  and i would love to hear your opinion for really good fics! =D
any type is fine (i just dont like gender-bender, the rest is fine =D)

MONSTER of a fic, but amazing. Aliens have invaded earth, and the Avengers are scattered. While Steve leads the resistance, Tony once again finds himself playing captive scientist. In the midst of a violent alien regime, separated by seemingly insurmountable boundaries, Steve and Tony have nothing to keep themselves going but each other.

It's my absolute favorite epic fic in the entire fandom. Tony goes back in time to right before Steve died and does his best to fix things. It's so amazingly written and well-plotted and it makes me feel so many things.

Uh, everyone already recced some awesome stuff on here, but here goes a few more-

otherhazards has a few really awesome yet very different fics because they're What-ifs and AUs set in the original 60's and 70's era of the Avengers. Think early-Avengers, without the sliding time-line. The whole atmosphere and of course the characterizations (and plot!) are pretty awesome.

A Bright, Clear Morning
Author's Summary: A what-if retelling of the early Avengers story if the land mine that changed Tony’s life had gone off just two degrees higher... and damaged a lot more than just his heart.
Note: Based on 1960s Avengers comics canon and told as a series of snapshots, which tell just enough of the story to be perfect!
