Last year we celebrated 10 Years of Steve/Tony. So far this year, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the

cap_ironman community and next month it'll be time to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A lot of time has passed, a lot of fans have shared their love for the Steve/Tony ship with us and put in work to share the love for this ship.

In July, it will be ten years since elspethdixon posted her Captain America/Iron Man (Marvel Comics) Ship Manifesto in the

ship_manifesto community on Livejournal: an essay and overview of the Steve/Tony ship that aided the start of our fandom and the still active Steve/Tony community.

Ten Years Later

Much has transpired during those ten year in Marvel Comics canon, the Marvel multiverse, and in the Steve/Tony fandom. But not least of all, the MCU has given shippers an accessible and immensely popular Steve/Tony universe, and brought in so many new members to our community in the past decade. Captain America Winter Soldier Bundle - This starts off where I recommended starting if you wanted to read Captain America and covers up to the Civil War. If you want to own this in digital format, this is a great deal to take advantage of. It is only running today unfortunately.

Two Minds One Body

Bruce and the Hulk are much as you remember from the movies. The big difference in the comic is that the Hulk has a distinctive personality of his own. He can speak, reason and has his own motivations and goals. During their long run this hasn't always been so, but they've been developed and grown to where they are now. Sometimes things back slide for plot purposes and Hulk becomes a mindless beast again. There have also been lots of crazy stuff that has happened to the two of them. They've been separated into two seperate beings; Hulk has transformed into various other Hulks and at one point the Bruce personality was in the Hulk's body. Despite that the status quo is Bruce and Hulk as a duel personality.

While I'm sure most of you know about Bruce turning into the Hulk, in 616, Thor also has two forms. In Thor's case, the human Donald Blake and Thor share the same body. When one is in control the other is shuffled back to into the void. Unlike the Hulk and Bruce, they are two seperate people. They can see what is happening while the other is in control, communicate with each other and to a certain extent know what the other is thinking and feeling. When Don strikes his cane or Thor, Mjolnir's hilt they switch places and the body transforms. If Thor is away from his hammer too long while on Earth, he'll automatically transform into Donald Blake and Mjolnir to the stick. Much like the Hulk and Bruce there are times during their history where they were seperated or one ceased to exist.

FAQ

Why didn't you recommend Thor: First Thunderer?

The art for it was so bad I couldn't get past the second issue of it.

What is with Thor and The Mighty Thor are they same series or not?

They are two separate titles. Unfortunately, Marvel is inconstant on what they file them under. So some of The Mighty Thor titles are listed under Thor instead of The Mighty Thor. This is another example of where dates will help you find the right title. Except of course when there is a Thor and a The Mighty Thor title running at the same time.

There is one Halloween fic I come back to each year to read, Nothing Important Happened Today. I spent part of this evening trying to track it back down again. Of course the whole time it was on my Nook and it was originally posted on the com here not AO3. :P
While this is a little late in the day, here are some of my favorites. Regardless of whether you read this on or after Halloween, I'd love to hear what fics y'all consider great Halloween stories.

Author's Summary/Notes: From the cap_ironman Halloween prompt table, (9. Tony tries alternate methods of pumpkin carving). Not exactly limited to that, though, since nearly 17,000 words of carving a pumpkin would be a little odd at best - an Avengers Halloween turns into Groundhog Day. Late because of the word count!

These last two are darker and spooky(well at least to me). Heroes and Devils has a happy ending. Betwixt depends on your view point.Steve is taken from the courthouse steps right before he is shot and he is returned there. So, he dies. The AU!STeve and Tony have a happy end though.
