Cap_Ironman Weekly News, Week Ending 20 November 2011

Evening, everyone. [livejournal.com profile] muccamukk has been banished to the Negative Zone. As you all know, the Negative Zone has unreliable internet, so I'll be doing the [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman/[community profile] cap_ironman newsletter this week. And please direct any questions to me or [livejournal.com profile] valtyr for the next few weeks.

First things first - there's a new beta list, so please consider signing up there!

Marvel has spiffed up their official Avengers Movie site, and it is really, really shiny. ComicBookMovie.com points out that a line in Loki's bio may hint at a plot point. Marvel has also released new banners to be displayed in theaters. Here's an interview with Joss Whedon about characterization and working with the actors, and an interview with Alan Silvestri, who will score the Avengers movie. On the comics side of things, here are sneak peaks of Avengers #20 and Invincible Iron Man #511.

[personal profile] melannen posted two fics, Safeword and Still Life with Potstickers and Welding Torch.
[livejournal.com profile] whreflections posted the fic Drink Down That Gin and Kerosene.
[livejournal.com profile] adrianneb78239 posted the Steve/Tony Wedding Set: Set The Date Card.
[livejournal.com profile] gogglehead84 posted scans of a cute moment from Avengers #19.
[livejournal.com profile] mariemjs posted the fanart Debrief? What Debrief?
[livejournal.com profile] nathcoelho asked for marriage fic recs.
[livejournal.com profile] acquiescence_ and [livejournal.com profile] midnight_writer posted the fic I'm Just Out to Find the Better Part of Me.
[livejournal.com profile] stalkerbunny asked for resources or advice on writing Sam Wilson.
[livejournal.com profile] nix_this posted the fic Borderline.
[livejournal.com profile] seanchai and [livejournal.com profile] elspethdixon posted part 8 of the fic Reassembled.
[livejournal.com profile] apenelopia posted the fic Hush, Brain.
[livejournal.com profile] isiscaughey posted 30 Cap & Iron Man icons.
[livejournal.com profile] arminaa posted the fanart Woven.

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments. If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [livejournal.com profile] muccamukk, or [livejournal.com profile] valtyr.

I don't know if it's meant to, but "stalkerbunny asked for resources or advice on writing Sam Wilson." just comes right back to this post. Thought you ought to know.

The link is here (http://cap-ironman.livejournal.com/720955.html?view=9673275#t9673275). All the same, thanks for the heads up, who know that I had so much ~feelings~ re: Sam Wilson.

Salvador Larroca is such a terrible artist. Why does the villain (who I won't name for spoiler reasons) look exactly like Tony? Uugh.

Worse, he looks like Tony with a mullet. A villain should not remind the reader of the pink popped collar "Superstar" shirt days of Iron Man. Diminishes the threat somewhat.
