Multi-verse and Movieverse

I'm new to this fandom since the summer, so I came to the fan fic from the various movies.

But I've been reading like a maniac. So now I'm wondering. Did the actors - RDJ or Mr. Evans - or the writers or directors or anybody - talk about whether and how the characterizations in the movies were influenced by the various possibilities out there in the comics canon? There's a pretty big range from Marvel Adventures to Ultimates. Point me to interviews/articles? I'm really scared of watching interviews, but I would for this information.

It's in the artbooks- the general consensus between the Marvel executives, the film creators (directors, script writers, designers) and such is that they are basing majority of their work on Hitch and Millar's the Ultimates run (Thor is copy-pasted, cap's uniform, Nick Fury based on Jackson was a joke there that travelled up to the films nicely, Hawkeye looks... and so on). At least visually there's a lot of borrowing going on, including scenes taken out of the comic pages straight to the screen. On the characterisation level- it's mix of Ultimates and 616 with pretty much whatever they thought would be interesting. I think that Renner had said somewhere that he was rooting for his Hawkeye to be like the Ultimate one, without purple spnadex. i dont remember if it was in Avengers artbook or in his interview.
