Cap_Ironman Weekly News, Week Ending 29 January 2012

In anticipation of the Avengers movie, Marvel is doing a selection of variant covers - the theme is Art Appreciation. Aren't they stunning? My favourite is the Egyptian one - I love Natasha caught in mid-air - but I also love Tony on the sculpture cover. What's your favourite?

Marvel will also be hosting a Global Twitter Chat, on January 31st, which means Joss Whedon, Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg will be chatting on the #avengers hashtag. And there'll be a tease of the Superbowl spot, and a chance to win prizes.

Neal McDonough (movie Dum Dum Dugan) talks upcoming movies, and will Sharon and Sam be in Captain America 2?

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. I like two - the Gurihiru cover (http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album_view.php?gid=3982&page=12) and the Winter Soldier #4 variant (http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album_view.php?gid=3982&page=11) with just Nat! (oblig WINTER SOLDIER IS ALMOST HERE, PLEASE BE GOOD)

I was captivated by Kaluta's storybook illustration of IM, Cap and Thor, and Winnie-the-Hulk made me laugh out loud! My favorite is Totino's impressionistic painting. There's something lovely about seeing Clint and Tony relaxing, Tony with his faceplate up. I do wish Cap was a little more "Steve." And Hulk should look absurd but just fits.

my only problem with that one is I didn't see natasha in it. :/

I'm pretty sure that's meant to be her standing next to Thor. Her hair isn't bright red--more auburn.

Ah you are right. She sorta blends into Thor. So I didn't notice her. >.>

My favourite is the one by Gurihiru as well. But then, I've always had a fondness for chibis.

Ah the Seurat cover! That guy went the distance! Love the Egyptian one as well, and the Little Nemo one cracks me up imagining their potential ~adventures.

I can't figure out 12's (Wolverine #304 by Gurihiru) ref though... and is 13 supposed to be Egon Schiele (I like it even if not, just not sure)? Cool cool! :D Thanks for the link.
